I'd would say that we'd have a better chance winning at least one SEC game this year without Chaney if we had someone on the staff who could competently run an offense but I'm thinking he gets a pass until the end of this season. If he gets another year, we're in big trouble.

IMO, if he doesn't get his act together by the end of next season, he'll be sent packing.

At this point, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Nothing against the guy, he just simply isn't a good fit with BB's run heavy offensive style.

Totally disagree that he doesn't fit.

That is an incredibly misleading stat. 74 yards came on two back-to-back plays in the 4th quarter

The problem is - if we don't start winning, someone pays the price.

If not Chaney, who pays the piper?

Michael Smith is the obvious choice IMO.

Michael Smith, I'm alright with that. Our receivers certainly could use some work.

Nobody needs to be fired or will get fired. We just got a flaming shite pile of a team right now. I think it's worse than the coaches imagined, now they don't even know where to start. Of course that's what they are paid for.

Oh, I disagree. Respectfully of course.

You see, this is the SEC, and we are paying real $ for our program. If we don't get results - heads should roll. Someone HAS to be held accountable for the state of our program, and I don't mean previous regime either.

It may not be right, but it is true.

Maybe we can get BP back as OC.

I would take Garrick back as OC but that's just me.

Sure, look at our basketball program, that logic has worked well...

Continuity does have it's value.

Brandon Allen has already been coached by 3 different OCs/QB coaches in his 3 years on campus, so what next 4/4, 5/5?

I'm not saying Chaney is or isn't the OC for the future.

We need WRs who run their routes, not the routes the DB forces them into, we need WRs who fight for position not let the DB be where they want. We need WRs who are not short, slow, and soft (not their hands obviously).

On defense, we need to find/develop guys to replace the linemen lost after this year, we need a back 7 that can actually play the game...

Chaney was always going to be a poor fit for Bielema. You are taking someone who wants to sling it 40-50 times a game and asking them to run it that many. He did the same thing with Canada last year at Wisconsin. He brought in a spread guy and then asked him to keep the same power running offense. It didn't go well just like it isn't going well here. I don't think Chaney openly gets fired but I could see the 2 getting together after the season and agreeing that this isn't going to work.

For me I would have a hard time choosing between sacrificing the OC or the DC though. Ash has been equally as bad.

Maybe go after Jay Norvell? I remember seeing stuff about him before we hired Chaney

You will have the same issue. You would be hiring a spread guy and asking them to play smash mouth football.

The worst part is if Chaney leaves Pittman most likely follows.

He's play calling isn't terrible. It's almost impossible to have great plays when your execution is still in preseason mode tho.

Allen telegraphs his throws and I have yet to seen him check down off his primary WR.

Chaney is terrible.

7 games into the season....Can you tell me our offenses identity?

When a team is preparing for us, what do they prepare for?

Power run? Nope...team is quick to abandon and go misdirection/trickery

Pass Happy? Nope...QB isn't good. Stares down WRs. WRs can't catch.

TE Heavy Offense? Nope....Quality TEs, but no involvement in offense.

RB/TE Screen game? Nope....Good athletes at both positions, but rarely utilized in screen game.

Overview for preparing for Arkansas offense: stuff the run in the first two series. Be prepared for short out routes to #19. Follow QBs eyes and it will take you to #19 every passing down. Routes can be jumped.

Watch #4 on misdirection. #3 is the best back, but may not see the field much.
