Will it exist in a few years?

We are acting like he is Chris Petersen, and even he eventually left.

Isn’t that location and expense? The most expensive area in a rich area?

It is a massive dump. Several Texas HS stadiums are nicer. They averaged 23K fans a game last year.

What does attendance average have to do with a stadium being a dump? They just poured $150mil into it and the stadium was built in 2000. Nothing about their stadium is a dump.

It’s cool to shite on attendance, but to just say some place is a dump is kind of ridiculous on your part.

Dream jobs for who? You?

He has been to Auburn and seen their crap first hand and left at his first opportunity. Arkansas has been a shite show for going on 13 seasons. Florida ran off a coach that had them in the SEC title game the year before being fired.

“Dream Jobs” are in the eye of the beholder. Not your eyes.

The contract Pittman has would make him take it.

But now I’m on the discords and see dumb fricks saying Gus and Deion. We will never be a serious program with retards saying shite like that.

You’re telling me that 99/100 coaches would consider Arkansas, Auburn, and Florida to be dream jobs?

You’ve lost your mind.

He’s making more than Pittman now and his buyout is larger and the contract goes through 2029. He also has a large donor pool of about $10-$15MM for players per year.

You're the only one saying Arkansas.

You said “dream jobs” in relation to me saying he wasn’t going to leave for Arkansas, Auburn, or Florida on your last post of page 1.

Arkansas isn’t a dream job. Auburn isn’t a dream job. Florida isn’t a dream job.

None of those programs are even considered blue bloods in the modern sense. The last hire at Arkansas was an OL coach. Auburn hired the head coach from Liberty, and Florida hired their last coach from Louisiana-Lafayette. No established coaches from any P4 program were knocking on their doors to be their next HC.

No I never listed Arkansas. You're the only one talking about Arkansas here.

And yes, all 3 of those I listed are dream jobs. Any coach at shitty arse SMU would leave in 2 seconds for any of them. Just facts.

No one is staying at worthless SMU to play in a dump in front of 25-30K fans. It's a low tier stepping stone job and he's gone either this off-season or next. Delusional as they come if you think otherwise period.

He is making 2.3m, the only thing he probably is doing better in is the donors.

2.3 is his old contract. He is getting close to $7mil on his new deal, which isn’t public. Like Vandy, SMU doesn’t make their contracts public and they don’t have to.

You seem to get offended quite easily when someone knows differently and/or disagrees with you. You should work on that.

Again, SMU’s stadium isn’t a dump, and I asked when was the last time you’ve been there…if ever…which I assume not.

And no, none of those listed are dream jobs…You seem to have quite the issue with SMU, for whatever reason.

There’s going to be a large portion of our fanbase that is going to be shocked when he doesn’t even entertain an interview with us.

Pretty sure a larger portion of the fan base will be glad for the Broyles, Nutt, and Gus links, trees, etc are dead and over.

It almost like these have held the program back. Petrino was the only fresh path toward and the boomers are far to eager to circle back to that to avoid the Nutt/Gus tree or inspite of it.

*Not rehashing the tired Petrino retread argument, the theory was tested and proved by Louisville. He is a good OC.

As long as Lashlee is a coach, there will be talks. I didn’t want him. Until I seen what he was doing this year.

It’s better than the Odom, Deion, BLJ, Gus that morons have been floating. Get him in now and if he sucks, we are used to that and that link is severed finally. He wins, we pay him well.

I agree, I’d like to see him keep the offensive staff together and be well compensated for the next few years. He is too much of a twat to be head coach in NIL times, just like his flop at Atlanta.

Just because it's the best option when the house lights come on, doesn't mean it was best option of the night...

This has largely been the problem with the football program, the hire is either the safe hire predetermined by the AD or a race to the bottom because other jobs are also open.

Thanks to chaggy (which was the race to the bottom because Gus said "No", the option of an unknown name hire is pretty much HY updating his resume...

Not really, that's why said he'll be at UF or Auburn or OU. He's too good for us at age 41. He can get a dream level job this year or next.
