quote:Winning the god awful AAC at least once in 6 years would have been a start. Even Fuente and Norvell managed that. Norvell played for the title 3 straight years. Silverfield couldn't even make the championship game at all. Petrino could have fallen dead in the middle of last season and I still would have wanted nothing to do with Silverfield.
Not certain what he did to rub you the wrong way other than not being named "Robert Patrick Petrino".......
You guys pump sunshine. I'll stay grounded about the guy that went 27-21 in the AAC at one of the biggest programs in the conference. I'm not going to apologize for having a different outlook than blind optimism.

Seems I’ve seen a few games against lower caliber teams (Winthrop) in Bud that had depressing crowds.
Central AR has plenty of issues with the stadiums. No doubt. Nor is there still a debate about the benefits of playing any games there, The only reason to do so is that the programs(s) see some benefit in broadening in person fan exposure. The fact that there are even less than top tier facilities available in such a location creates options. Those options can or can not be chosen.
I just see little value in discussing the facilities, how often they decide to play there, etc.
I’m just hoping they (primarily football) decide to play hard…again….somewhere.

Well yeah. Sorry Knox ruined some of your narratives.

Honestly it’s usually a good crowd in NLR. The crowd last night was pretty decent for a no name opponent.
I can totally get the argument in football. There’s no need to take any games away from Fayetteville. Those games are already scarce.
There’s zero reason to not play a game in LR in basketball, other than just spite. NWA is not exactly packing the arena for mid major opponents, and there’s plenty of games in BWA anyway.
Yeah the arena is getting pretty bad, but who cares really? It’s just a fan comfort thing… we as a collective fanbase reminisce about Barnhill being a hellish place to watch a game, and that adding to the environment.
One thing I’ve noticed about Verizon is that the TV mic setups really tend to undersell the noise level. The games I’ve been to there have always been great crowds and very loud, but then I’ll see clips from the game and the volume level seems moderate

I’ll soften it….
We got the best team in last 30 years and 2 Joe Johnsons and my man HnD taking pics of bleachers.
Get your head in the game.

Sounding quiet on tv isn’t a narrative.

My wife and I use to go every year. Now we've been priced out. Driving to Fayetteville and buying tickets is about the same as going to NLR, and the atmosphere is just better.

I think most people forget that kids make up the loudness mostly, and kids have changed. Would rather sit at home, would rather be on their phones, etc..
