Official OC Search Thread
I will once again, because it has become my bit, throw out the "not a dark horse, but a pitch black horse" candidate in former NDSU and current Wyoming OC Brent Vigens.
You and CV have been on him from the beginning -- he'd be a solid hire.
My CSB moment -- I've been in banland since before Chaney left for trolling LSU fans in the CCB, so I'm just now able to celebrate our newfound independence from Chaney openly.

I wondered where Feral went...
Welcome back bruh!
Ok, It has surprised me that such little speculation has happened on visits, interviews, etc.

Marcus Arroyo was just let go by Tampa Bay. FootballScoop says he interviewed for a P5 OC job earlier this week.
ETA: A TB writer said he heard either Utah or Utah State.

Thanks fellow sailors!
I hope you're sitting down when you read this, but apparently LSU fans can dish it out but they can't take it, and openly reminiscing about 17-0 while talking about their (then) DC vacancy is uncalled for
And Rev -- thanks for the inside info. You're about as good a source as any about the goings-on behind the scenes.

That would be kind of humorous if he went to Texas just because Wisconsin fans have been counting him on their staff for a week or two now.

Bert makes more on homes without the spots filled or at least appearing to not be filled. I would put a 20 on him having already "hired" replacements. The recruits who need to know likke Graham do and keep it quiet.

Would not be surprised

You think Bert will tell an 18 year old something he doesn't want anyone else to know? Maybe he would, but I doubt it.

IIRC the first news of Randy Shannon slipped out via a recruit.
It is the smartest thing you can do if you can keep it quiet for an extra week or two.

Otis is reporting this morning that Michael Smith turned A&M down and will remain at Arkansas. That means the new OC won't be able to bring in any staff with him.

Damn, I would think many people looking at the OC position would want to bring one or two with him. How badly will that affect their decision to take the Arkansas position? ... And why did Smith turn down A&M? I imagine they'd offer him more money. He must really want to stay? I was kind of hoping he'd go.

No clue. If he was truly offered then I thought he would go as well.
As to how this affects any incoming OC, I don't know either. I know my personal opinion is that if I'm tasked to architect something then I would want some on my team that I am familiar with. Perhaps a younger OC or a guy out of work might not care as much since it's an SEC job. Smith didn't get to bring anyone with him last year but he was also out of work.

You should read the thread over there about the late start to the basketball game. Very humorous.

His 3 month for one crap.
Seeing him show up to BWA looking like a bum in a Lakers shirt who hadn't shiwered or combed his hair in a week really pissed me off. Least professional media member around.
