It will be a huge blow to those who still have the Petrino man crush if CBB gets Shannon as a LB coach when Petrino wasn't able to hire him as DC last year...
But Shannon with say Porter as RB coach combined with the current staff will test that "you can't recruit good players to Arkansas" theory...

LB Coach - I'm going with Ray Lewis. He retires from the NFL and signs 6 5* star NSD flips.
RB Coach - The guy that was at Colorado who Pete Roussel was saying Bielema might hire as WR coach.
I think Arkansas is single handedly ruining Pete Roussel's credibility this coaching search season. He's been very far off the mark on basically everything he's said about us.

while we're throwing out hypotheticals, dick bumpus. shannon gets a promotion at TCU, Dick comes back to his alma mater and waits for Ash to get a HC gig in the next few years. shannon is the better hire, and dick hasnt coached LBs in a while, but i can see double Bz pumping up a hire like this to excite the homers.

When Coach and Jeff were in LR they apparently said that the LB coach will be Shannon. Also Long got pretty drunk. Heard that from a reputable friend at an Xmas party today, figured I'd pass it along
