DVH was playing for the win... Play for the win on the road

If he bunts Webb, he ties the game but he also knows that the chance of Slavens K'ng is great, so we end up with Wallace up needing a hit to take the lead, which is exactly where he ended up anyway.

Better off hoping Webb gets the run in without purposely giving up an out.

Sucks how it worked out, but it was the right call.

I wouldn't have been against bunting Slavens, just not sure if he's worth a shite at bunting.

So depressing that this is a legit concern for a lot of players nowadays.

I was livid yesterday, but the fact of the matter is that our schedule down the stretch sets up quite nicely.

We have home series against an Ole Miss team in freefall and a very beatable Vandy team. We have road series against Auburn and Bama. Before the season Ole Miss and Vandy were top 10 matchups, now both are out of the rankings.

Famous last words, but the only remaining series that gives me pause is Auburn on the road, and I’m already penciling that series in as a loss, but the other three set up well for us to solidify our top 8/hosting credentials.

Auburn is hot on our tails and only a game back, but luckily they play Tennessee in Knoxville this weekend. I’ll be glued to that one hoping for a Vol sweep. A&M is also playing their best ball right now and has a stretch run of Vandy, USCe, State, and Ole Miss.

There’s a legitimate chance that we could very well finish 2nd (or even 3rd) in the West even if we take 3 of our remaining 4 series.

I’m not saying if he’d told them to do it that they wouldn’t have it m saying now he’s got a great example for the next time when he does put it on for the guys to understand how important it is to be able to bunt and thereby getting better at bunting
