Pittman was excited about being Top 10 after two or three weeks.

That press conference should’ve told you all you need to know. That’s when the wheels fell off. Players take on the personality of their coach and Pittman was satisfied that day at the podium.

And then he said he would be happy with a bowl game.

So Malik led the offense all week at practice. The head coach and Briles decided to run KJ out anyway. It was very apparent KJ wasn’t healthy. Briles called plays to protect KJ. Liberty knew this because they never respected the QB run today and only keyed on the RB on zone reads.

Basically a collection of decisions by this staff led to the loss today. This staff has a problem with utilizing players when they should and also utilizing players when they shouldn’t.

The fact McAdoo hasn’t been on the field all season, coupled with the conundrum of not having the right QB at Miss State along with still trying to trot out Chavis as a starting DB tells me this staff has no damn idea on how to properly judge talent on the team.

Chavis isn’t the problem

Unless he was burned multiple times the last two games, chavis has not been bad.

So frustrating. Based off the few clean runs KJ had, Hornsby would have had a field day against that defense.

I do wonder if Rocket is also playing hurt because he also looked a step or two slower today. I wax surprised to see him get run down a couple of times off the edge when it looked like he would break it.

"I was a little concerned with where we were at mentally going into this game."

Pittman from the press conference yesterday. Am I being unreasonable for fuming after hearing this? Isn't that his fricking job to fix when he notices shite like that? Isn't that the time you start yanking arse up and getting their minds right? This apathetic bullshite pisses me off.

Him acting like an issue like that is like him standing on train tracks trying to stop a train absolutely infuriated me. You're the fricking head coach. If your team's mentality is shite that's on you. Sitting there looking like a defeated dog talking about how your team wasn't mentally prepared. No wonder we got pushed around like bitches all game long. Delayed melt I guess but holy frick that flew all over me watching the press conference this morning.

This team's leadership is piss poor this year and it reflects in every facet of the game. Last year's team was absolutely fed up with losing and wanted to win more than anything. You could see it in how they approached every single week. This year's team thinks they can just show up and win and it's by far the most infuriating part about watching them play.

One of the main things I thought I'd get out of a Pittman team was a gritty workman's approach to the game. He's been soft as baby shite this year and it shows on the field.

That's the most disappointing part. 2020 and 2021 we played so hard every week.

The thing is I don't want to be saying any of this shite. I love Sam Pittman. I welled up with pride watching him accept the job. He made me feel proud of the Razorbacks again. I was ready and willing to overlook so much if only that pride remained.

But this shite... It just doesn't seem like he has a whole lot of control right now. This looks like a team and a staff that aren't sure of what they're doing. There's no week over week improvement like in the past. If anything we've gotten worse. It's like an early season Bert team but all year. Worst of all the effort is starting to wane. As soon as I see quit in the team my switch is flipped. That's the one thing I cannot support.

That said, I will give a nod to Odom this week. Pittman said the coaches got a hellfire and brimstone talk at halftime and if any coach took it, it was Odom. The defense stepped up mightily and made it a game.

Relax, compadre. I’m just poking fun at myself for having had KJ’s back for him turning the corner over the last few weeks prior to yesterday. And then seeing that unmitigated disaster of a performance yesterday, I’m giving kudos to you for having never left the train.

I get it, man - I’m not happy either. It’s a sucky sucky feeling staring at a game in Columbia for Mizzou’s super bowl in order for us to make a bowl. Pit in my stomach hasn’t left since yesterday.

People are not going to like to hear this, but Arkansas talent wise is not head and shoulders above Liberty, and KJ Jefferson is an average QB who from time to time flashes brilliance.

We need to up our talent across the board and get an exceptional QB, and even if/when that does happen, 10 wins is pretty much our ceiling. Until then, if we are reasonable, 6-8 wins is what we should be accepting.

Yeah I apologize. I'm definitely on edge. What a saw yesterday pissed me off and then Sam's comments this morning twisted the knife in my side. Wish I'd never watched the press conference. Ruined what should have been a relaxing Sunday morning coffee.

yes we are. That’s why we were 14 point favorites.

I never understood this.

Then again I'd been saying Liberty was gonna be a problem for weeks. I just didn't buy that we were that much better than them. Freeze is a hell of a coach.

They had their 3rd string qb starting man. Nobody thought they would completely shut us down on offense. The bottom line is we were not focused on this game and thought we could show up and win. We are head and shoulders better than Liberty but they are well coached enough to where that isn’t the case. And newsflash to all of our fricking players nobody fears the Arkansas razorbacks. Nobody has been scared of the name on the front of that jersey since Bobby P was here. And going 9-4 once doesn’t make you a big dog that everyone is afraid of. Even though that’s what our players seems to think before yesterday. Who knows maybe this will be the kick in the nuts the players and the coaching staff needs and we can knock off lsu or ole miss because talent wise we aren’t far behind (offensively at least.) it’s just the lack of focus and give a damn. This week will tell us a lot. If we come out fired up and compete with lsu after they just beat the crimson tide then maybe all hope isn’t lost. If we get boat races this Saturday then the players have let go of the rope and Pittman has lost the team. If that’s the case he needs to be let go and the end of the year
