He’s a great athlete. I’ve thought he may be one that moves on after the year so we can make room for the 2020 recruiting class but if he keeps hitting threes he’ll be a nice weapon.

Russell Schaap has a pretty good thread of videos for Tuesday nights game:

Yeah I didn't realize he could get that high. His first 10 seconds in the game he almost jammed a put back in and it looked like his head was over the rim. Also, the individual improvements of players was very noticeable. Coach Muss actually pays attention to the small things and it shows in a big way. He is the caliber of guy that can put Arkansas basketball back on the map and have us in the discussion every year.

Nolan used to say it's all business when it came to games, Muss has the same feel. He has the players believing that if you want to be a PRO you have to have the habits of a PRO. This is a winning formula. We will win more games than expected this year.

quote:This is exactly how I feel. In the predictions thread I said 18 wins without Vanover but after seeing the Rice game I think I shot low. I know it's just one game, but the team was so much better in literally every aspect of basketball. Guard play was much better than expected on both ends of the floor. That can go a long way in college. Just look at Auburn last year.

We're going to lose some games just from shots not falling that night, but it won't be as many as I initially thought. That defense will win games on its own.

Yeah, very surprising
I don't think this makes Rice decent but really a strange spot early with Penn beating Bama and rice getting destroyed by us.

I think we are all gonna be pleasantly surprised with how good this team is this season. They were extremely impressive against Rice.
I've been saying for awhile now that I love the talent on this roster. Musselman is gonna have these dudes playing at a high level.

If it weren't for a bad first half, North Texas would have went on the road and beat #25 VCU. They lost 59-56.
Our first real test of the season.

Breakdown of North Texas for tomorrow's game
-North Texas beat Oklahoma Christian (DII) 79-40 and lost to VCU 59-56
-They are 14th in points allowed and 267th in points per game
-They force a lot of TOs but also give up a good amount of them
-Despite holding VCU down to 37% from the field, they gave up 38.5% from behind the arc
-They like to use their 6'10'' big quite a bit
-Even though they have decent size, they haven't rebounded the ball great.
-Committed 20 Fouls on the road at VCU
Should be a fairly low scoring game. On offense we need to make the open shots we get from behind the arc and get to the foul line, they will foul if we can get them out of position. On defense we have to defend the paint by denying entry passes and helping when the ball does enter the paint.
