Big Z's tournament run has come to an end. 2.8ppg 2.6rpg. Did not make a three and made 4 total field goals.

0 points vs UCONN
4 points vs Iowa
2 points vs HOU

I would take any of our bigs over Z - Billy Richmond or Knox could probably zero him out or just kick his weak arse in iso. His brother is definitely better, I won’t deny that, but would he really have been enough?

You’re bitching after us making 5 out of the last S16s, two elite 8s, and winning the SEC tournament for the first time in over 20 years and continuing to recruit at an elite level. I’m going to go ahead and trust the coach with over 900 career wins, a natty, multiple natty and tournament appearances on more than just a 2 year data sample. Also, some of it really is just luck - we do need better bigs but even Zona, who dominated us in that regard was dominated by Michigan. It is a cutthroat world and things aren’t the same as they were and they were never easy. We need to focus on supporting what is succeeding and help those programs where they are deficient. Pretty sure that we have a dedicated assistant coach(es) who recruits and is suppose to develop big men - you want to blame someone, blame that guy first. If we’re at the same place after next year, I’ll concede to your argument. The Ivisovic brothers would not have propelled us past Michigan.

I do not believe Z would have saved the season. I do believe we should quit red shirting kids with the majority of the redshirts hitting the portal anyway.

Absolutely. Further, if we have staff not pulling weight in their evaluation, recruitment, and quick turnaround on talent development as related to in-game production - then they aren’t doing their job and it also needs to be addressed as much as what players are coming in because it ultimately decides that and what the turnout looks like. Cal knows how to get good guards. He needs his staff to get good bigs that are already there or can be taught quickly and are ready to play. Redshirting is basically pointless for any player worth a shite.
