Is this all b/c of Hunter's "vision" of not paying ppl or does the university AD truly not have the funds to up the assistant salary pool for these guys an extra couple million in case of something like this?
I'm not the biggest Yurachek fan, but I don't think there's much validity to the claim that he's cheap. Odom was one of the highest-paid assistants in the SEC. Both coordinators last year were making 7 figures. There's a weird rumor out there that HY is cheap, but that's based on a specious claim about our 2019 coaching search when absolutely no one wanted this job, the guys who did feign interest wanted enormous buyouts to take it, and we ultimately had to hire Pittman because we were still paying Bert and Chad.

I was always told Arkansas was flush with cash and we are in the richest conference in College sports. So why do we always seem to be haggling over salaries? It's not like 3/4 of the schools in the country aren't already operating at a Loss, anyway...
Do we haggle over salaries?
In his 2010 extension we gave Petrino a market competitive salary and huge buyout. Bert got a market competitive (and undeserved) contract and buyout for mediocre results after the 2014 season. Chad and Pittman both got contracts commensurate with their experience. We upped the ante with Pittman's coordinator hires.

Its the Houston Nutt effect. That douche flirted with every job that came open his entire tenure here.
Briles has done a fine job, but at some point you go your separate ways. You can't have this shite every recruiting season.

Did you miss the part where I said I wasn’t passing moral judgment?
But anyone trying to say high level members of the staff didn’t know what was going on are absurdly naive.

We have shown we are willing to splash the cash when needed. There are legit issues you can have with Arkansas but that isn't one of them.
Hell, if anything we are too willing to pay big bucks for mediocre results.
If Briles leaves "Well.... bye." He's a very good offensive coordinator and I hope he does well but its not like we will suddenly be running the Wing-T set with a Jr. High coach from West Memphis. There are quite a few folks who would dearly love that job.

1.35 is the amount that I heard. Really? Odom was much higher, and we continue to lowball. Damn, just damn!
This is classic Arkansas tanking, not Hunter's fault because he's not the guy who controls the money
The powers that be who have always fricked things up behind the scenes per their egos, are doing it again to poison the water on Sam
I'm pretty sure I know exactly who they want replacing Sam
Repeat: Hunter cannot control the money. We will lose Hunter on this, he will leave for a job where everything is not dictated to him.
Don't expect the Arkansas media to tell the truth about any of it - they will "blame Sam", "blame Hunter", same old way it's always been done before
Follow the head scratching moves. If Wally says one thing, believe the opposite. If Hog Radio says one thing, definitely believe the opposite
et cetera

Isn't his agent Sexton? If so he is going to keep shopping around.

Not sure who I am pissed more at. HY or KB.

the band is getting back together - it's a "frick you" to Sam and a "frick you" to Hunter
but they'll keep Sam around and rename him Good Ole Sam and he'll be a jolly good fellow Arkansas coach in "retirement" as they move ahead with their plans
Please stop blaming Yurachek - all of you are smarter than that I hope

Nope
there's a mutiny against Sam alright, and Hunter as well
but it's not at the hands of players or strength coaches or tight end coaches

that's why Mike Irwin's bent over arse started all the sudden blaming the Chad Morris hire on Julie Cromer Peoples after the Western Kentucky debacle

I hope you're wrong, but I fear you're not.
It's in the DNA of our booster base. They did it to Broyles in 2007 and Long in 2017 (which needed to happen but was done for the wrong reasons).
We've even heard the useful idiots of our media the last few years try to pin the blame for hiring Chad Morris on Julie Cromer-Peoples, who had about as much say in that hire as I did.

Kindle got in with the cross church folk and was working for the HC job?
This is exactly what I need while the basketball season went completely in the shitter.

they've been after it since 2006 - you think their rich children aren't going to continue it?
one as AD and one as head coach?
one as head coach now, and AD later, then the other as head coach?
Tommy Boyer torpedoed Lane Kiffin, twice, for a reason. He has backers. Reading these guy's backers in the Arkansas "media" is as easy as predicting what Rachel Maddow will say about Donald Trump.

Ok my man, some of what you say makes sense. However, Briles shouldn't have been in this situation to begin with.
Looking back at dates and numbers, why exactly did BO get the $$$$ and Briles had to keep asking. It wasn't that incredible defense, that's for sure.
