But yea, oh no, we didn’t hire Roberts. Whatever will we do. I’m so disappointed.

Did we trick auburn into hiring the coach we didn’t really want?

I seriously doubt Sam will be fired going 6-6 again. The expectations back in 07 were different than now. Going 8-4 yearly was expected then but now being in such bad shape, you have to build up those type of expectations.

I don't blame the six losses on just injuries by itself. Some of these games were lost strictly from incompetent coaching. The staff besides a few players struck out on defense especially not finding a replacement for Ridgeway.

Supposedly Roberts chose Aub over Arkansas strictly because of money.

Auburn simply offered more. He wanted to go to Arkansas at first, but it was 0bvious Aub came in with a bigger offer and he bolted.

Hogs being cheap yet again, and it burns em.

I was not a huge fan of Roberts l, but he was/is likely better than a UGA Dline coach who has never called a defense before.

I was fine with Roberts. But, he isn't a real hot commodity at all. There are times that I believe we should go young, hungry, aggresive with something to prove over an old head on the tail end of his career. fwiw

We are willing to pay whatever is needed as was proven with BO. He was a top 10 paid DC and really never showed that worth on the field or recruiting.

What will Roberts do in the SEC? not panicking as of yet!

what’s new. We don’t care about football. If we win it’s a nice little bonus. If not who cares.

Unbelievable, not you... But some folks, We did not go cheap on Barry Odom. He was paid way about the value of his coaching/recruiting imho.

If Auburn wants to get into a bidding war for Roberts, they can have him. Not worth that trouble

Bingo

How does one cry about potentially hiring Roberts and then cry when we don't.

Maybe we can take DJ up on his offer to coach the tight ends, he loves the helmet and has no experience. Can he close on recruits?

/sarcasm.

I would offer Bobby a raise though. Move Kendall to tight ends and have Bobby work QBs. Doubt that’s a possibility though.

Arkansas tight ends coach Dowell Loggains is leaving Arkansas to fill the offensive coordinator position with the South Carolina Gamecocks, according to a report from 247Sports' Brandon Marcello. Loggains, a former quarterback at Arkansas, spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons on the Razorback coaching staff after a long career coaching in the NFL.

Loggains is viewed as one of the best recruiters on staff and was also thought to be next in line for offensive coordinator duties at Arkansas if Kendal Briles ever moved to another job. Arkansas currently has three four-start tight end commits in the class of 2023 in Shemar Easter, Luke Hasz and Jaden Hamm, and Loggains is also listed as the lead recruiter for four-star wide receiver Micah Tease, four-star edge Quincy Rhodes Jr. and three-star safety Dylan Hasz.

Loggains said he always wanted to return to Arkansas after walking on as an undersized quarterback back in 2000. Loggains grew into one of the team's leaders and saw action in games at QB, though his primary responsibility was being the team's holder.

"It’s almost a feel like I never left because I came back so much," Loggains said after he was hired at Arkansas. "It was obviously a dream of mine to get back here at some point and I’m so very, very fortunate to be back now."

There is no doubt Loggains' heart is in Fayetteville, but he has a career to think of and getting a job as an offensive coordinator in the SEC is a hard position to turn down, no matter how much love he has for his alma mater. He was born in Newport (Ark.) and attended high school in Abilene (Texas) prior to walking on in Fayetteville.

"I don’t think anyone can sell this place like I do because I believe everything I say to these kids about the University of Arkansas because I lived it," Loggains said in August. "This is always where I wanted to come to school, so I hope that every kid that I talk to feels that passion that I have for this place because I believe it with all my heart."

Arkansas' 2022 season did not go as well as Razorback fans had hoped. Loggains oversaw the transition of wide receiver Trey Knox to tight end. Knox came into the 2021 season at 6-5, 215 and was up to 245 pounds heading into the 2022 season a year later. So far this season, Knox has 26 receptions for 296 yards with five touchdowns in what has been his best season as a Razorback over his four-year career.

Loggains served as offensive coordinator with the New York Jets, the Miami Dolphins, the Chicago Bears and the Tennessee Titans in the NFL during his 11 years as an NFL assistant coach. He also coached quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns, Titans and Jets.

TE coach is viewed as entry level position in college football.

I worry Sam goes back to Jim Chaney.

He could just tell them his backstory. I'm sure he could win over a ton of moms with it. Pretty amazing
