Sending messages like that to players is abhorrent. No excuse for it. I know I bad mouth BA on here, but I seriously doubt he reads it. But to direct statements at him in the nature I've seen on twitter and facebook is pathetic. That's the problem with social media. I think it creates a disconnect that allows people to say things they would never say in person. And it's almost like many don't realize that there is a real live person at the other end receiving this verbal. abuse.

What does that have to do with the situation being discussed? We're not talking about how we feel about a person, we're talking about what we say to a person, and why.

Sending harassing messages to a person because you don't think they're good enough in a sport you watch is pretty fricking dumb and pathetic. It shows low social intelligence and/or poor character.

I never argued otherwise. But getting outraged about tweets is pretty dumb and pathetic too. This is a billion dollar business, it's not little league.

it's college not pro sports.

anyone who tweets players, imo (and isn't a coach or friend) is a twat.

Are the players getting a share of that? If not, then the fact that college football is a billion dollar business is irrelevant to the issue at hand.

They get a lot more than that from the school. Stipends are getting increased too.

You're not being consistent. If you agree that making these comments directly to players is dumb, pathetic, and shows poor character, then you cannot also say that it's unreasonable to complain about such behavior. It's either reprehensible or it isn't. Which do you think it is?

I never said it was unreasonable to complain about tweets, I said it was pathetic and dumb.

I don't really give a shite. Hopefully our players use the trash talk as motivation instead of being babies about it.

Right, so you think it's unreasonable. You obviously don't think it's reasonable, and it has to be one or the other. So, you apparently agree that the people who direct harassing comments directly toward our players are low class douchebags, but simultaneously think that it's unreasonable to complain about such behavior. That's not consistent at all, which makes me think that you were actually trying to defend the people who made those comments.
