Like going scorched earth on CCM during his first season cleaning up Berg's mess while defending Mike in year 8?

To be fair, the equivalent to Chad's failure would be Mike winning about 6 games. Obviously things didn't get THAT bad.

If you dont see the difference in the current trajectories of the football and baaketball programs then we will just have to agree to disagree.

You're starting a whole different conversation. I'm just saying this basketball season wasn't nearly as bad as going 2-10.

Obviously the football season was worse, and there's no doubt that Chad didn't do a good job during the season. But at least we have some hope given how we're recruiting. Right now in basketball though we're in limbo, even if we're having better seasons than in football.

I think most people agree that Mike isn't a bad coach, but it's gotten old and stale after nearly a decade. Apathy has set in.

I disagree here, but overall I very much agree with your post... Recruiting is Mike's problem IMO, where we have recruiting hope with Morris. Hopefully it translates to wins on the field

Mike's problems go beyond recruiting. Even when he has the talent to be a second round team he squanders it. We start out slow in conference play bc he's still trying to figure out his rotations. Add to that the fact that he's still double teaming people 40 feet from the basket and allowing teams wide open three's and lay-ups and we give away far to many games. Especially early in the season. Mikes strength as a coach is also his biggest weakness. That being everyone has a green light to shoot the ball. Offensively he really does get the most out of his guys. Unfortunately when you recruit and play guys like Gabe and Bailey your biggest strength becomes a weakness. Mike is clueless out there. All he knows is what Nolan taught him and thats simply not enough. Yes his recruiting is lazy and shitty. But his coaching is also a big part of the problem.

The expectations were nowhere near the same. Mike missed the mark more than Chad did, especially after the recruiting period. Has nothing to do with which was worse. They aren't operating on even fields. All coaches are ever judged on are what was expected vs. what was given. Chad walked into a 4 win team that actually lost talent in year 1. Mike was on year 8 and missed the tournament completely for the 5th time.

With his recruited players, in his system, with his assistant coaches, after getting a practice facility, etal….

I keep refreshing the interwebs today in hopes of good news on tHill. I’m actually surprised. I though Hunter would flex on this today.

If the move will be made it'll be made after next season

Waiting until next season is stupid. Mike failed to recruit at a level to be a top 25 program for 8 years now. Its just like Arkansas to be a day late and a dollar short. I'm holding out hope that they are waiting for Sampson to finish his run.

We will just get used for a raise.

If we fired Mike, we'd get scorned and wind up with another Pelphrey.

Bank on it.
