Big Names

quote:

Gus Malzahn Here's the power move, and it's already been churning. Could Arkansas really pull Malzahn away from Auburn? Malzahn played at Arkansas for two years and coached high school football in the state before a successful stint at Arkansas State. It would be a move that shakes up the entire SEC West, and it would be costly. Does Arkansas have the power to do that? We'll find out.

Lane Kiffin Kiffin's success at Florida Atlantic can't be understated. That's going to land him a job in the SEC; it's just a matter of which one. This would be a risky hire for Arkansas, but if he brings offensive coordinator Kendal Briles with him the Razorbacks will put up points right away. There's a high-risk factor here, but Kiffin's success can't be ignored much longer.

quote:

Les Miles Miles will be mentioned in every SEC coaching vacancy because of his successful track record, and Arkansas fans know him well from his days at LSU. Miles, however, was just 6-5 against Arkansas. Given his age, this doesn't appear to be the right match.

They're classifying these weirdly. Any SEC school that offered Lane Kiffin could get him right now, FAU is not his destination job. And we could have Charlie Strong the second the phone call ended. Blake Anderson is not even a big name, he's just having some meh success over at l'il bro.

List is absolutely ridiculous if it includes Les Miles.

Wonder why these dumbasses even consider themselves journalists.

I would be shocked if Strong would ever come back to Arkansas...

He's from Arkansas and he's at a G5 school right now after falling from Texas. Not saying we'd ever offer, but why would he not jump at the chance to coach at Arkansas right now? I could only imagine a highly unfavorable and stifling contract could keep him away.

I've heard he has said explicitly that he never wants to coach here.

But I do think they have reached out to him just in case.

Interesting, if true. I wonder what that's about.

From what little I know, he caught some heat for being in a mixed marriage.
