Speaking of Ole Miss does anyone find it suspicious that their insiders were saying "Norvell is #1 and if they miss they will go all in on Kiffin and Napier", yet there has been 0 insiders or national media talking about Norvell to FSU (who is the other big school that is apparently after him). How did they go from Norvell is our #1 to Kiffin is our #1 and coming in less than 2 hours? Is that not suspicious to anyone else? Does anyone not find it suspicious that Ole Miss 3 days into their coaching search had landed their #1 (but wasnt their #1 two hours earlier) target? Is it not suspicious their "Were hiring a coach this time and this place" is almost word for what what Arkansas media has said not just today but 2 days ago? The only way that happens is if Kiffin isnt HY's guy and that seems like the most well crafted smokescreen from HY if true.
The only person Ole Miss would be conversing with is Jimmy Sexton. They would not be talking with Lane the day/night before a conference championship game. Lane is supposedly a matured and learned from his mistakes HC, so he wouldnt be bothering with job hunting (like he was at Bama) the night before a game. Jimmy Sexton is the only one bouncing the ball back and forth between Arkansas and Ole Miss, if thats even happening. Lane is not accepting or turning down anything the night before his game. Lane has final say in his contract not Jimmy Sexton. Lane is the employer and Sexton is the employee.
So something smells fishy, or sharky, do sharks smell like fish? Beary? Rebel-y? Whatever the f*ck they want to be called. Ole Miss Cheetahs are the ones sharing all the info. Theyre the ones leading this whole thing while our AD does what? Sits back and says "well shucks guys we just cant do anything right".
Either Lane is the guy and locked up, which until around 7PM he was according to any trustful insider. Or Lane was never the target and the guy were after is better than Lane. HY doesnt need the board to approve any hire. He could go out and hire the first dude off the street as the next HC without needing the board to do anything. The same "the BOT had issues with Lane so hes out" rumors were said about Musselman just days before he was announced, some opposed him early but he took out the brass balls and the rest is history.
I trust an insider and if he was hearing anything different he would be saying it. I believe Kiffin to Arkansas has been done and there is an agreement in place. He was right 5 days before we hired Musselman when everyone was talking about Beard and Sampson.
Btw the poster has contracts with the same lawyers that do the UofA contracts and has been in on that info for a while. If the contract wasnt there or was being rewritten for another client he would know about it.
