Have to watch tomorrow.

Teams are saving slot money today to make a pick like Neville tomorrow.

pitcher from Crowder College (Neosho), 15 miles north of Bella Vista, went in the 63 range

they have 22 Arkansas kids on the roster

I'm sure DVH has a red phone to that Crowder College coach, but...wish we could have gotten that pitcher early, because I'm sure he was headed our way if not drafted

Sucking at TCU unless he just had a couple of bad outings that ballooned his ERA

He likely went to JUCO to get into the draft earlier.

He was committed to OK State before deciding to go to JUCO. Was committed to LSU before being drafted.

Rumors he won't sign and will play for DVH.

I hope that is true. We haven't had an elite CF in a while. Braydon Webb was serviceable but nowhere near the likes of Franklin and Fletcher before him. Neville projects to be that elite CF for us for the future if he comes to campus. He and Jones would give us a good offensive nucleus as well.

I wish Phillips would come to school, but I think it's pretty much been expected for him to sign. Sprinkle would have been nice to have as well, but I'm sure it was expected for him to sign as well.

Its looking like we'll get Coll to campus. He's a very good offensive SS. I don't think he'll be the likes of Battles defensively, but not many would be.

Pitching will carry us next year more so than this season with so many unknowns on offense.

So much for the Noland coming back rumors

He always said he was going to go if drafted in the 1st 10 rounds. I think it really depends on what he is offered. For a lot of these seniors, they are not going to get anything near the slot value.

You’ll see the top-ranked players on MLB Pipeline’s Draft Top 250 list are all high schoolers. There’s a good chance that group will head to college. But that’s not a 100-percent guarantee. Every year since the bonus pool system started, high-end players get taken on Day 3 and sign over-slot deals.

That system gives each team a certain amount of money to spend in the top 10 rounds of the Draft, a pool based on slot values for each selection they have. For picks beyond the 10th, teams can spend up to $125,000 per selection ($150,000 in 2023) without it counting against that pool. Now that Major League Baseball has completed the top 10 rounds, teams may have figured out they have some extra bonus pool money to go after some of those players.

There’s no risk in trying. If a team doesn’t sign a top 10-round selection, it would lose that pick’s slot value from its pool. That’s not the case on Day 3, so a team can take any of the above high school players, or any player for that matter, and not have to worry about a non-signing impacting the pool. Any bonus above that $125K threshold will count against that pool, however.

I know his family personally. He gone, money or lack thereof won't hold him back.
