Maybe Wisconsin isn't that tough of a place to win after all?

I look at what they're doing and it makes me wonder.

Also asking an honest question as I don't know the details of what they're doing and have given up following recruiting. I realize the league is pretty easy but they seem to be rolling right now.

I would attribute it more to a product of continuity.

Alverez has ensured their identity and philosophy has remained the same since he retired. Right or Wrong he had dictated the offense they run and the defense they play.

New coach same system.

This has obviously caused two HCs to leave thus far, but the next coach is set up for what he will be allowed to do.

Very few programs have seen 180s in philosophy lead to instant success. Often times when you examine the ones that do you see the previous HC had began recruiting for the new identity before he was replaced.

I was thinking about this a few days ago. People who can't seem to win at places that are actually challenging to win at downright flourish at Wisconsin. Bielema is really struggling here. Gary Andersen was 9–4/#22 and then 10–3/#19. Then he goes 2–10 at Oregon State, and is now sitting at 2–3. Paul Chryst: 6–7, 7–6, and 6–6 at Pittsburgh. Then he's suddenly 10–3/#21 and is now sitting at 4–1/#8 at Wisconsin?

It's strange.

I realize a lot more to it but just more proof how hard it is to get a locked in winner.

I was 100% down with the hire at the time but I'm not sure it's going to work out over the long term. We shall see how we respond but last week was a tough, tough beat down to rebound from.
