This one could very well have repercussions on our staff one way or another. KB is listed as an initial candidate for their job but they’re also going to go after Jeff Traylor. I imagine Traylor gets the job which means Kendall will most likely go up against Lunney for the UTSA job.
Something for us to keep an eye on as we move in the annual coaching carousel.

Another caveat, Matt is from Sallisaw, Ok.
Only about an hour and a half from the hill. I believe his parents still live there.

One of the downsides of a CEO coach is the possibility of losing both coordinators. It hurt Ed O and the wrong hire can sink you.

Wells is a good coach, but they need to do everything they can to get Lunney as the next OC.

All of Jeff Traylor's life in Texas has been either in the beautiful east Texas pine country, or the hill country in Austin and now San Antonio
I'll bet he hates the thought of living in Lubbock
Same for Briles. His dad played there but he's never lived there. Screw that hell hole. I'll bet Matt Wells is happy he got fired with a record of 5-3; it makes the AD look like the dumbass he is and Wells gets to move out of there.

Briles will take a Texas P5 head coaching job in a heartbeat, even if it is in Lubbock.
His last name, though, will still make some schools nervous. I also don't see Traylor leaving San Antonio to go to Lubbock, but who knows. His specialty is east Texas.
