You obviously don't realize how many NWA fans buy Fayettechill and War Dump books?
tWarDump hasn't been supported by Central and South Arkansas fans forever.
Long knows where the tickets for each are going.
Since he has been here, the annual revenue has increased every year, from roughly $50 million then to roughly $80 million now.
If he is able to continue to increase revenue, the need to rely on a few names to foot the bill will decrease, which is what everyone was wanting back in 2006 to get rid of the GOB system...

Here's an idea, how about you quit buying your tickets and donate $400 to the foundation.
Save you half your cost that you're stretching to get and still support your team.

Can anyone tell me if there was this amount of bitching when the basketball team quit playing in Pine Bluff, Texarkana, etc?
To think the hogs beating Jordan and UNC in PB instead of Barnhill, tragic...

And just for perspective.
I've beena season ticket holder since 05--LR only no donation single ticket.
Now I have 4 lower level in Fayetteville and 6 in LR. I've donated over 15 K in the last 5 years. I live 2 hours from LR and 4 from Fayetteville.
I would drive backwards blindfolded up the pig trail to watch the hogs beat Henderson in the freezing rain beforei would choose to go to War Memorial. It's a disgrace to the University and even more it's a disgrace to It's actual intention, a MEMORIAL to war veterans. Its a shame the condition it's in.
That being said,if the they played in Jonesboro or El Dorado I'd be there too.

I stopped going to WMS games after the 2006 season. Most of the die-hards I know have gradually stopped going over that timeframe. I was an early-abandoner of LR games amongst my wine & cheese consuming compatriots.
So, I have watched LSU games played down there on TV every time since. I hate seeing WMS on TV or in highlights. It just doesn't measure up. It drags down the reputation of our program to those who might have only tuned in to a Razorback game on Black Friday all these years.
To think, we had a prime TV spot rivalry game for all those years and we chose to showcase WMS.
I can't think of shittier marketing for the program.

Seriously, don't you think it ought to be proven that you can consistently fill up the seats that are already there before adding more?
Who said to add to the capacity?
Capacity will still be less than 80k.
It's 76k now and the death traps will come down.
Even if it never fills up , the place will still draw 64-76k for home games.

Which is 10k more than WMS can hold sold out.
This equates to revenue not just from tickets sold/donations, but from pepsi, popcorn, t-shirts, etc sold.
Arkansas receives no revenue for the 30 packs of natty light/Milwaukee's Best consumed or the couches burned on the golf course at WMS.

I grew up going to Little Rock games.
My first Hog game was in Little Rock.
We used to plan our tailgate on the golf course a year in advance.
I grew up in south Arkansas. I lived in Little Rock as well.
My group of friends who I used to tailgate with have all been in favor of moving games to The Hill. Most of them reside in Central Arkansas or South Arkansas.
I think the few WonderWarts that are out there are going to be surprised when 95% of all Hog fans know it is past time to move games from War Memorial.
Don't blame Jeff Long. Blame the WMSC for not renovating and expanding years ago when Frank asked them to.

I think the straw that broke the back was the attendance to this year's games there, I've said in the past and believe I was right that WMS had to be at capacity every game to justify the games there.
Instead, they bitch about the opponents, bitch about the team's record, and still don't show up to the party, I mean game.

Only the golf course tailgaters are bitching about the end of tWardump.

Just in general.
I'm about to lose a bunch of LR friends on FB if they don't knock off the whining.

I've been in favor of one SEC game per year in LR (no non-conference games) for a while. But after the poor attendance this season, I really can't argue for even 1 game in WMS anymore. It's time to move on.

I've been in favor for the FCS opponent or the home game for the first week of modern gun season as they turnout/demands have been low at home, but would max out WMS with a waiting list for tickets, if those same 60k wanted to go to the game that weekend...

Hey, don't shoot the messenger.
Loss of support in parts of Arkansas is inevitable, Jeff is smart enough to know that.
He's banking on NWA to fill in the gaps though.
Y'all come through for him.

Poor attendance wasn't limited to WMS.
There are problems in OZ as well.
No need to build those North Endzone seats until you can fill the ones you have.

People in South and Eastern Arkansas are going to just give up being college football fans altogether. Its inevitable.
They're also going to give up duck hunting in Stuttgart, and crack-whoring in Pine Bluff.

The Fort Fresh metro is 300,000 people now. If you subtract the Oklahoma counties, its still 200,000 people.
The Fayetteville/Bentonville metro will pass 500,000 people sometime in the next year or two.
We'll be fine.
We are near the top of the SEC in attendance in baseball and basketball, and I have no doubt that the overwhelming majority of those fans live within 1 hour of Fayetteville.
The university tracks who is buying tickets to football games. I also have no doubt that the majority of season-ticket holders for football also live within an hour of Fayetteville.
I'm glad we are keeping one game in Little Rock, but I wish Little Rock advocates would acknowledge that the U of A is basically doing them a favor at this point.
