I feel like I've accepted this as a loss already. We're usually bad in bowl games and this one is setting up to be really bad.

I also think we're ready for basketball season to get into full swing.

Strangely enough, we’re actually 5-2 in bowls in the post-Nutt era after going 2-6 with him.

This is only our 13th bowl game

Lost in the 14 year drought, we have won 5 of the last 6 of them.

1969 onward has been rough on us. Most of the football success took place before the Korean War.

Arkansas is favored by 3 and the o/u is only 68.

Nutt had a weird dislike for bowl games. I remember Bob Stoops mentioning how unprepared we were when we played Oklahoma. Not a comment a head coach makes about another team very often. Whereas, for all their faults, the coaches we've had since then have really stressed winning the bowl game to end the season on a high note.

As for this year's bowl... it goes one of two ways and both would be depressing. 1: The young coaches get us fired up and we come out playing lights out on offense and defense en route to beating Kansas convincingly. We spend the entire off season wondering why we didn't play like that during the regular season.

2. We sleep walk through the bowl while showing just enough to tease us that they could have done better. We spend the entire off season wondering if Pittman is going to be able to turn things around going into next season.

I know Kansas is going to leave it all on the field. This is a massive game for them and their coaching staff is frothing at the mouth to add our scalp to their tally for the season.

The Vegas bowl was the most embarrassing loss as far as bowls are concerned. The music city bowl was a close second.

Nutt didn't take bowls seriously unless it was against Texas. Even the independence bowl win, Arkansas dragged arse and Shawn Andrews supposedly had problems with his nostrils and opted out.

Off the top of my head?

Our all American LB Drew Sanders
One of the starting WR Haselwood
Backup WR Ketron Jackson
Starting C Ricky Stromberg
LB Bumper Pool
Nickel Myles Slusher

So…. A lot. But KJ and Rocket will play? So that’s good right?

Isaiah Nichols entered the transfer portal this weekend so that’s another starter out.

Starting TE Trey Knox is also gone.

Some young guys will get some experience. Curious to see how Arkansas looks in certain areas considering throughout the season, it seemed the staff mismanaged some personnel evaluations.

At the end of the day, the Hogs should still trot out a good OL and our full stable of RB’s along with KJ. That alone allows Arkansas the good chance of controlling the LOS and clock.
