Some good points... But I read where Leach was terrible when having meetings to coach players where he would get off on a tangent about a certain war, aliens, bigfoot and they would be there for hours and still only spend 15 mins on game planning. The dude is a very high functioning savant with autism, I believe. He will seem extremely odd to some parents/players.
He also hasn't been known to get great assistants overall in the past. Will that change now?
Some have went on to do well, others burned out quick. Grinch was the only D coach I remember that had success with him overall. And it was one year.
Should be fun to see, I am awaiting the assistants he has and want to watch the Miss State fans justify how awesome that they are.

A lot of things were written and said about Leach during and after the staged event concerning Craig James' son which has since been proven to be a character assassination attempt, funded by Craig James himself (Mr. pseudo big-shot/politician), who felt that his son wasn't getting enough playing time.
James had in fact had hired a public relations firm to spread the rumors, false accusations, and outright lies about Leach in order to get him fired. And James' son actually played himself in the role as the poor little helpless victim in their orchestrated endeavor.
The accusations were eventually all proven to be false and ended up exposing CJ for what he really is...a total POS. But if one listens to coaches who have coached with Leach and people who have known him over the years, they admire him and his ability as a coach.

I legit Best description I have heard. He comes off as so odd and anti social.
He will be solid at MSU though. He will get better recruits at MSU than anywhere he has been before. He will win 6-8 or average 7 wins a year. He will have high years.

We are honestly lining up against murderers row.
Tier 1
Alabama
LSU
Tier 1b
Auburn
Tier 2
Texas A&M - JIMBO
Tier 3
Miss. State - LEACH
Ole Miss - KIFFIN
Arkansas
Bama, LSU, Auburn, and A&M with Jimbo all have top 10 recruiting classes.
State, Ole Piss, and ourselves are all potentially top 25 in recruiting with these coaches.

It is funny. But let's do some introspection.
Since Hootie and the Murray State mafia, we have hired a social outcast, one who forgets where he is, says he likes coaching at Alabama during his press conference and thinks we should be all smiles, one who allegedly gets too tight and out of kilter at the wrong time and place, and one who is completely oblivious to wtf he is doing as a head coach in the SEC.
I would be totally ecstatic and filled with glee if the Hogs manage to win that many games after what we've been through.

You and me both. I hope we can. Kiffin and Leach just made our road more difficult though. Our overall staff will be better though. That can be our saving grace.

It's a lot of smoke but you know the old saying...
When there's a lot of smoke...
But I'm not sure that I believe anyone carried BB. Sam may have guided him back. I can remember having to do that on more than one occasion with a friend. And the more that friend drank, the more he would tell you how much of a friend you are.

It was the first time I had heard that story, and remember sam left almost immediately after that in home, and we were the favorite to get Garrett.

BB definitely had an affinity for nectar.

Pittman was the only football coach invited to the kids’ wedding. We definitely would have had him if Bielema hadn’t fricked it up. Instead he chose to stay local at Utah instead of following Pittman to Georgia.

Tier 3
Miss. State - LEACH
Ole Miss - KIFFIN
Tier 4
Arkansas
FIFY
We'll only get in tier 3 with a winning record, just not there yet.

I’ve read mike leach’s book and there’s no doubt the guy is eccentric but that’s never been an issue with coaches or players when it comes to coaching football. Leach is pretty much obsessed with winning. He talks about how when he was in high school and coached a little league team he had them doing hit and run bunts double steals etc.at 8 years old the guy may ramble in interviews but he knows football and is very serious and focused when it comes to the game.

I believe it now that I've seen it with my own eyes.
