Let me clarify, this doesn't mean Gus is out. He's still the top target and his intentions should be known this week some time. His offer is out there and he knows we're evaluating other targets, pending his decision and understands that.

Gus Malzahn says he’s committed to coaching Auburn football in 2018

That was another very vague answer. When he says "I'll be at Auburn next season", we'll know his answer.

Why anyone still takes coach speak at face value is beyond me

If Lane Train is indeed our guy, then now is the time to hire himz right now... Because the shite cloud around Tennessee right now is sucking up all the oxygen for college football news and anything negative about Kiffin would get buried.

If Kiffin is the guy, I’ve lost all hope for the football program in general. I mean, for real. He has the mentality of a 40 year old virgin. He’s posting memes of Saban on twitter in ripped jeans

He;s also giving FAU their best season ever in his first year, and Bama's offense is a lot worse without him, and there's no doubt he'd be a great recruiter.

Kiffin could be ok, but I'd take Leach, Venables, Strong, or Morris ahead of him.

What have Venables and Strong done to make them better candidates?

Especially Strong. I still for the life of me don't understand why a decent portion of our fanbase is even mentioning him.

I think Strong is a stand up, discipline guy, who has put together some very good defenses.

Venables not so much, but he has had nasty defenses at Oklahoma and Clemson both.

Strong has as much experience as Kiffen, or close to it. The positive for both is the don't have Kiffen's history.

Oh yeah, let's go the stand-up, high character guy route again.

F that. He had zero winning seasons at Texas in a weak Big 12. Don't care what he did at Louisville. He's a loser. Next.
