Yeah man, getting us more wins in his fourth year in football than we had had in decades is the pinnacle of mediocrity, right?

What's he done that's been mediocre?

He has hired Anderson, Petrino, Beliema....he has also made hires for softball, who has done a complete turn around and have made the Ncaa's two years in a row....made a great women's soccer hire, who were ranked in the top 25 this year for the first time ever....he made a volleyball hire that was awesome and they're having their best season ever....gymnastics is always good...

The new football facility has been erected and moved into....the baseball facility is about 1/4 done....the north end zone enclosure has money secured for it and will start in less than two years...the basketball facility will be built by the end of 2015...

What more could you want?

Actually for the mediocre Hog fan, it is.

Titles were won before Long. Sheeeesh, how much more simple can this be?

Good one, Drewbie. Learn to think for yourself, you could go far.

The point is that he has us in the right direction

Broyles kept a mediocre coach for far too long. Long's hired two great coaches... what more do you want?

Sorry for the delayed response, had to grill my Asparagus and Salmon real quick. I will try and address each of your points.

Most of you are probably down the ladder from having any dealings with tPTb, but I get to on specific occasions. Your boy Long is nothing more than a resume builder and has always looked at our crown as such.

He has wooed and wowed ya with his little twitter tweets and flashed the silver lining on every hire that he has made.

Hawgeye made some good points regarding hires in the sports other than the big 3, but when a program is at rock bottom, progress is about the only way to go from there.

Now, the big 3? What championship has any of his head coaches won since he has been here?

Football-0 We've had the worst seasons (plural) ever under his watch

BBall-0 We haven't sniffed the NCAA since he's been here

Baseball-0 Favorite sport, but he came fricking real close to running off one of the most successful coaches ever in DVH.

The Texas AD job is the biggest in the land and bears the most financial responsibility along with the largest marketing department.

Yet, Little ole Long is going in for an interview. That is a statement. I thank the votes every day the Lottery passed so we can finally start educating more kids in Arkansas and stop this cycle of stupidity among our adults.

Pigfeet, I understand you don't want to put your head above the trees in fear of getting your head cut off but.... goodness.

C'mon Sun, that forest has been clear cut so much that any ol rantard can see where this program is headed.

Chop away, son.

IF we don't pull in a great recruiting class then I'll agree the hire will certainly be on the fence. Until then my jury is out.

Volume (wins) doesn't cure all. Monetizing our program from a good ole boy network into a business has put us in the right direction. The coaching hires are out. I do believe letting the John L saga drag out instead of giving the younger Ohio State coach the reins is viewed as a bad mistake in hindsight.
