Wrong. LSU missed the tournament completely then got stony brook'd and his seat was never even close to warm.

Stony Brook wasn't a regional, it was a super regional (you know, that thing we haven't made in 4 years now), for one.

And two, what happened the next year since you can't read very well....oh they made the College World Series, so yeah, unless Arkansas can make the CWS this year (lmfao) it is you that is wrong.

And his seat was definitely warm after Stony Brook, you are drunk.

Serious question... who would be your choice for a replacement?

No idea, couldn't name another coach in college baseball outside of Manieri.

I only watch until the Cards start, so as long as you guys are happy with Rick Barnes Jr, enjoy.

I will always remember the glory years in the 2004 era, having full session tickets for the regionals and super regionals watching us clinch as a 16 year old, was a fricking blast. Everyone thinking we were going to win at least 1 natty under DVH if not more and be a super power. If only.

His worst team ever is still currently 3rd in the SEC west and has already played 2 of the top teams in the conference. I can't explain our awful midweek game losses the past two years though.

With what we've lost the last few years our pitching would have struggled to some extent no matter who the coach was though.

Also the weakest the SEC has been in a very long time, especially the West. Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, MSU are all quite bad.

SC in the East has fallen off a cliff, and UGA, Kentucky, Tennessee are always bad. Hell Missouri is in 2nd place.

not sure I agree with wanting to fire a coach without having an idea of who you want to replace him with.

preferably it would be someone who is considered better. I'd really like to see some names of who we could realistically hire if we axe dvh.

I think Mr. Long would have a solid Top 5 list, no worries there.

What does knowing other coaches names matter at all? I have watched more baseball in my life than you have taken dumps.

Pretty rich coming from you though, I know damn well you've watched about zero games, and didn't even watch half our basketball games for that matter as you were streaming during most and I had to tell you what happened. "Oh did we play tonight?"

Oops.

I've watched 6 and watched at least 10 basketball games. Go watch your Cards get slaughtered by the Cubs.

Oh I don't think I said I wanted him fired right now, maybe I did but I don't think I did. I said he'll get another year for sure.

But you're delusional if you don't think he and the program and trending down, and have been for years now. He has wasted some unbelievable talent in that span too.

They seem to be getting it together a bit.

I don't think DVH should be fired or that he seat should be hot. I was disappointed in our last CWS performance after we won our first two games.

We do currently have one of the longest NCAA regional streaks in the nation and have 3 CWS under Van Horn, which is only one less than the program had as a whole before he arrived.

Having said that, his teams do sometimes seem underwhelming to an extent, so I can certainly understand someone like Ultimate showing some concern. It's a legit concern. I just seem to fall on the side of the fence where I think he is a good coach and think he will eventually win it all here.

They were playing USCe for a trip to the CWS final in 2012.

Are they really though? Or is it a bad OM and bad AU team? They should maybe sweep KY (the worst team in the SEC tied with UT) next week. I watched the whole AU series, I can't say they are any better it was more of the same but AU is a much worse team overall.

Which is great and all, but unless we can start winning midweek games, with our record, that streak will end this year.

I thought that for the longest time, many did, but I can't honestly believe it anymore. Been here almost 15 years, old bats new bats, facilities, talent...I just can't see it going forward. I'm not sure I can see us making another CWS before his tenure ends.

Hell it feels like we haven't hosted a regional in 10 years.

No, I think we are getting better. I just don't think we have the pitching depth as in years past, which will show in midweek games.

We have a chance to climb. Our RPI was in the 110's prior to the weekend, and we sit at 86 now. They're on the right track.

No, we haven't hosted in a while. I thought we got puckered in a couple seasons where we deserved to host, but we are in a league with so many host contenders.

The schedule sets up nicely to have a shot at a 2 or 3 seed on the road this year. We have UK next weekend, then State, Bama, UGA, and a tough series at aTm in a couple weeks.

We shall see

If we had literally one more solid bullpen arm to go with Jackson they'd be in a much better position already.

Any call to the bullpen = puckers a-hole.

I was just waiting for us to blow the 3 run lead today, and we damn near did, gave up a run, loaded the bases.

I fear we'll run Jackson into the ground by seasons end and then we are completely screwed.
