What a lot don't realize is that we're able to pay out CBBs buyout over 5 years if we should choose, and that's whether it's at the max amount or the roughly $8mm after Jan 1st. Its also offset by his new salary should he take another job afterward. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised to see a negotiation done on the buyout terms between UofA, CBB, and a new program either.
I've been assured over and over again that the buyout is not holding back any decisions whatsoever.
On the face of it his buyout number appears to be large, when you break it down to the percentage of revenue for the program, its actually pretty small, especially over a 5 year period and you are right, Long will use CBB's ego against him to renegotiate to better terms while allowing him to save face to take a year off after resigning for "health problems or stress from being a family man now" or whatever reason you want to use.

NMSU is far from a given either.

8-4 seems like a huge stretch. I predicted 7-5 and now that seems a stretch after what I saw on Saturday.
Enos will get AA killed unless he changes his game plan to roll outs and bootlegs. Better get Cole Kelly up to speed quick Dan.
OL is soft as Charmin shite tickets. Frick you Bert!
Defense and Special teams cost us the game against aTm. Body by Herb is BS. They get gassed and can't finish Shite.
New Mexico St. game has Toledo written all over it. They lost to AZ St. by 6 and Az St. just beat the Ducks by 2
I think fat arse has lost the team, I hope I'm wrong. I feel and see lot's of bad vibes.
USCe is a road game and not a gimme.
Bama will crush us
Auburn, Gus owns Bert
Could tank after 3 straight losses
ETA: Gus will never coach at Arkansas

I can't decide if everyone is doing this now just because I pointed it out and they realized how true it is, or because they think it makes me squirm.

I don't know why you find the notion that NMSU can compete with us so preposterous. They're a decent mid major and we have the head coaching version of Lenny from Of Mice and Men who has shown a propensity to lose games he has zero business losing.

This is absolute garbage and anyone that knows how agent's work already know this.
Get fricked, Dale

They're a solid club. They just trounced UTEP 41-14. They were down only 14-13 at the half against ASU.
Their QB has already thrown for 1,400 yards and they have a quality RB who is averaging nearly 100 yards per game.
So yea, this game could be a lot closer than a lot of fans would like it to be. At this point, I would not be surprised with this team losing. The locker room was split last season and it looks like things haven't changed much. The defensive unit was one big cluster frick a season ago and now it looks like it has spread to the entire team.
Bret's days are numbered.

I went over to tardville for a good laugh because I was bored.
Someone did have a good thought though shockingly.
Basically our media is not going to ask anything tough,(no brainer) but after Bert is gone they are going to air all the dirty laundry out just like they did with JLS.
The issue is that some have already let it slip that there was infighting last year. Especially on the defense. I was lead to believe that it was seniors who were the main problem last year(who should have taken that with them) , but now we have folks here saying our whole locker room is a shite show.
I'm thinking last year's team giving up on Robb Smith is the downfall of Bert. Also the poor recruiting of both lines. Especially along the D line. It is awful how poorly this staff has evaluated this position. When fat Bert played the position.
Say what you want about Bobby but he had great D linemen.

There is one hope...and most do not really like him. Eric Bolin. He seems to not really give a shite and believe it or not, is about the only Arkansas media writer I give a shite about reading. Sometimes, controversial is good.

They will pick on Curl early and often.
To think this is a gimme is idiotic.
Maybe 50k in DWRRS at best.
Fat frick has lost this team, they've heard all the BS he's spewed.

He was excellent at evaluating D-line talent. His last two classes included Flowers, Philon and Wise. Who knows how much of that was Caldwell and how much was Petrino, but I would give anything for that level of talent.

I frequent more than just this board, I saw a whole lot more 6 and 7 than anything else. Not even mentioning the 5's.

Fair enough, guess our board has a lot more Sunshine Pumpers than others

Who knows what is going on at this point...
AA was emphatic that he believes CBB is a great coach and this loss was solely on the players. That it will get better.
CBB is an emotional man period, he wears his feelings on his sleeve and isn't afraid to show them. This isn't bad, if you are winning. But in the tough world of football, it is seen by many as whiney and wussy.
It isn't as bad as it seems yet, but it is worse than we deserve as a fan base in year 5.
Now about Gus. Please Dear God NO! NO! NO! I love the razorbacks, love the fight we have had a times in the past, I get up for games. But, we cant let that snively little bastard come here for anything. I loath the man in more ways than hardly anyone can imagine.
I would rather Nutt back, and I loath Nutt just a little tiny bit less.
He is a backstabbing, mealy mouthed, little bitty man with a wife that wont SHUT UP who has once already had a major role in splitting our fan base. He and the "Floyd disciples" would ruin any little joy that is left with their sanctimonious arrogance and putrid display of glorified church pew idiocy. NO, NO, NO!
