He's okay, not good or anything but a serviceable Bert QB. As long as you don't expect anything vs good teams (awful today and a season worst 34 QBR vs Penn State) he is enough vs lesser teams.

Damn I took LSU and the points and LSU ML in parlay. Thought LSU was free money myself and the game went about how I expected it to.

I was screwed from Oklahoma to start the day. I didn’t expect them to be that god awful. I also figured we had a chance but was proven wrong.

Have to go all in for Rhett Lashlee. He’s probably say no but you have to try.
What is tits buyout if we go 5-7? 10M?

We have plenty of money if we commit to it. We just refuse to commit. We didn’t build all of these golden palaces of mediocrity for no reason and we didn’t build them with leftover timber that martyrs hung on. I get what you’re saying, but who gives a frick anymore and we need to just go all in or HY needs to publicly state that he and the BOT don’t care about football. I’ve watched us pay more years ago to fire multiple people in multiple sports. The money is there. The desire to win and for excellence isn’t. So, either way we’ll do the same stupid crap we always do and sit and pretend we’re a sleeping volcano but in reality we’re just a large smoldering bonfire going out at the top of a hill and not even mountain.

Thank you. Why do people think we need to keep retreading with idiots from our failed in-state coaching trees. Some of the best damned HCs that have come out of here were NOT natives of Arkansas. Not all, but many weren’t. Obviously excluding Bryant. But many forget about how many coaches that could’ve been and never made it to the hill as an HC - Carroll, Switzer, Johnson, Davis, etc. Frank Himself was a GA Tech Grad.

Meaning it’s a moot point and then we devolve into making it a joke? What shite specifically? Because there’s a lot flying around.

The football program

I agree. I think we should shut our football program down. There is no commitment to excellence or winning. I fully believe that we’ve got the wrong people in the wrong places of leadership and execution for football to be good. Think we could all write books on that at this point.

Illinois looks good
Yeah, old Bert is doing okay there this year.
But, all it proves is that it's different in the SEC.
What might work up north might not here.
And that includes Indiana.

Bert started 7–1 at Illinois two years ago. Finished 8–5. The rest of their schedule is set up nicely for a 10–2/9–3 season, though. It'd be the first time he's gotten over eight wins since his second to last year at Wisconsin.

His first three years at Illinois weren't any different than the results he put up at Arkansas. 5–7, 8–5, 5–7. This is year four, and a late season collapse is never out of the question for a team led by that guy.
The drop off from Wisconsin to Arkansas proved that he was dealing with a different animal, but it's not like he returned to Wisconsin form after going to Illinois.

Outside of him being from the state, why would you not want a guy who has elevated his program since he took over? 11-3 last year. 6-1 this year, so far.
In this very thread there are talks about how the ship likely sailed on us getting curt, because we didn't/wouldn't pull the trigger before this season and now every big program with an opening is interested. Well how do avoid that? You hire a guy whose having success before he becomes the new it name in coaching. Well rhett is doing that.
