The idea of Lane Kiffin being our coach isn't a bad one. It's just awfully risky. High risk, high reward.

On the one hand, he is a first rate coach (his offense tallied 800 yards in one game recently. Incredible), but on the other, he trolls people on the internet for fun and acts like a frickin dickhead like 24/7.

It could easily end in embarrassment and I'd imagine that's something we should seek to avoid right now if possible.

I'd be aight with it. I think he paid his dues while under Saban.

If the boy is winning, he'll be called eccentric and we'll cover for him like we did Petrino.

He will maybe get a top 15 recruiting class, post a 9 game winning season, and leave for more $. Not worth bothering with.

Why are you so quick to assume he'd leave? He only left Tennessee due to his USC ties. He doesn't have any other strong ties to other schools, and it's not like USC is going to hire him again.

Everyone on here says we need this/that kind of Offense/Defense. What we need top 15-20 recruit classes. Lane can do that here. I’m not sure any other candidate can recruit at Arkansas better than he potentially could. College football is won on the recruiting trail.

We all day Nutt sucked and Brett sucks, but if either of them could have been an elite recruiter, we wouldn’t be having these conversations.

I like him and think he'd be good here, but check out his Twitter. He's still a kid..

having said that, I would love a guy that has an insider view of Bama and likely how to beat them and hates Saban and wants to beat him

IMHO Gus is the guy to get Arkansas back to the Bobby P days.

But someone is going to hire Lane soon.

This is my worry with kiffin. I don't see him sticking around if he has success

If he leaves here that means he had at least 2 really good seasons. It also means that he leaves for a better job, one that is not in SEC (assuming non compete).

Win win for everyone

I don't necessarily think Kiffin would leave here if he was doing well. I mean, Arkansas can offer him as good a salary as he's gonna get anywhere else. I just worry that he seems to lack any sort of professionalism.

One of the things that kills me about Bielema is shite like showing up to press conferences in flip flops and shite. Unshaven, disshoveled, etc. It's not the sort of appearance you would expect from a person making 4+ million a year.

People may see it differently, but I see stuff like that as an indicator of what you can expect in a man's work ethic. Lane Kiffin is similar to Bielema in that regard. I remember how Saban had to publicly scold Kiffin for going on a recruiting trip looking like a slob. He made them stop by Dillard's on the way to a recruits house to buy a coat and tie. Lol. And he wore that shite over a polo.

I mean, if the PTB want to give Lane a shot I would definitely support him. He is a good coach, and he may be able to be great here. Arkansas isn't as hopeless as a lot of people think. And coaches don't generally leave here on their own. They usually get fired.

I don't care if he wears a kilt and toboggan as long as he wins...

I would be an immediate fan of any coach who wears a kilt.
