ensures he's not going anywhere for at least 3 years, which I believe is the length of his term. can you imagine the outcry if he is named chairman and then goes to Texas shortly after? I think this move benefits us in keeping Long in Fayetteville.

It also strengthens the respect he already gets in the industry. Coaches for any sport will want to work for him.

I think Jeff is after a conference commissioner position.

He is, but the SEC would lose their shite if Long took over for him.

I don't know why? he's been nothing but class since being here. only folks that would get rustled would be those that may think Slive turns a blind eye to the powerhouses in the league. Long wouldn't go that route whatsoever.

That's the answer to why it may happen, but the SEC would still lose it's shite if Long took over for Slive.

Yes.

The first time Arkansas received a favorable schedule in any sport over "the big6" it would be because of Long showing favoritism to his former school...

Get fricked with a murder's row in football like normal and nothing would be said.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who believe this. We've consistently had difficult SEC schedules over the last 15 years, if not longer. I think we've played Vandy and Kentucky less then anyone else in the West, and when we have played them, it's been when they've had good teams.

I really thing JL stays here and gets a term extension. He absolutely loves Arkansas and enjoys the hell out of his job. If not, then he'll be in a conference commissioner position.

Jeff Long and Bert on CFB Daily today.

I like the positive exposure we are getting on ESPN, not just being talked about but having our coaches and AD on their channels constantly.
