.....your 2022 recruiting class is off to a good start. How did y'all snag this high 4 star DB out of Michigan (Rowser)? Does he have an Arkansas connection?

Sam Carter.

Having Jalen Catalon as a player.

Also hiring Butler Benton as Executive Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel didn't hurt. He's a Detroit native.

Arkansas is actually in the mix on some other pretty decent safeties as well. Amazing how the program went like 15 yrs seemingly without a decent safety/back end to the defense and now it's their strength.

I don't know about a "good" start. It's about average for us. It's not all that uncommon to see us high up in the rankings early on, and then settle to #25-30 by the end of it. On a yearly basis, Arkansas produces the least amount of 4*+ players than any of the 11 SEC states. And almost every time, the highest ranked 4* will leave the state. Many times, more than just that top guy.

Arkansas football will measurably improve if we can finally start locking up those guys, and then strategically cherry picking Texas, Louisiana, and getting the occasional standout player like Rowser in Michigan and Alex Collins in Florida. The states around us all have more blue chip talent than they can do anything with, they're just all going to out of state schools that aren't Arkansas. We can change this and get into the top 20 yearly, Sam just has to prove he's the man to do it. If not, I think he'll inevitably fail like his predecessors.

The game is changing. High school recruiting will be a smaller part of the equation with free agency and endorsement deals. Look at our basketball team. Next year probably less than half of our production will be from guys that were high school recruits.

Yeah, it's a nice start. I've been surprised how quickly Pittman has turned things around down there. Good luck!
