Strange that y'all aren't responding to where I said I'll give Petrino due consideration... if he just happens to win a game this year. We are the worst team in the SEC and we lost, in back to back weeks, to teams that were in a dog fight for that spot.

I don't care that he is notorious for stabbing people in the back. Bear Bryant was mean drunk and I'd have taken him as our HC. I care if he wins and he's not winning now. The last place he was at before this shite canned the entire coaching staff because they didn't win enough. We have three games left against teams that have some serious issues... win. Just win one of those games.

Because he didn’t build this team. His offense is doing what it should take. And the defense has let them down every time.

But you guys collectively just forget that part. You’ve not said he is doing what it takes offensively, but not defensively. You just say he sucks. You can say fumbles but why was it even that close? Because the other teams score every time they get the ball.

Defense didn't let them down against Mississippi State, Offense did. Defense didn't let them down against Auburn.... Offense did.

So your point really isn't that valid. Defense has only let BP down in 50% of his 4 games as interim HC. His Own boys have failed to seal the deal on two of those losses.

Really, one game makes all the difference to you? If a single win earns him “due consideration,” why can’t zero wins do the same? If he manages one victory with our disastrous defense, it probably means the ball finally bounced our way once or twice and we caught a rare break we haven't got much of in recent years.

Whether he wins out, loses every game, or picks up one or two wins, it doesn’t change who he is (as you’ve described, a vile human being), what he’s done, or what he will do.

Your logic just doesn’t make sense IMO.

bullshite.

He's been the OC for two years. This is his product. Win a game.

No, that was me being polite.

Just a win a game. Just one. That's the bar I'm setting for him. And you all act like I'm asking him to cure cancer. Win a game. Then let's talk.

Gonna die on this hill ... aren't you?

BP Was limited on NIL for his players overall because he was saddled with being the OC of a man who loves the school, but couldn't coach worth a damn. BP was not in charge of the defense in any form and yet he is saddled with them as well.

He has the top 5 offense in all areas in the nation but because his Defense can't hold up... you want him let go.

When we wind up with the newest version of Chad, you will be wishing for BP to be back, and we will have to purchase him a harley to make it happen

I just think BP has run his course. we got to make our peace with it all....
now let's move on and build a new culture.
Figure out a way to win now.

Much of the BP fervor is fear of the unknown. The last three hires have been so bad, fans expect another. I agree we should move on regardless.

No. What I am trying to get across is that you are dying on this hill. You want Petrino from 15 years ago. You ain't getting him. He's gone. If he came in, turned things around, and started winning games I'd happily be yelling for him to be the HC. Hell, I did when the change happened.

Bobby P hasn't done that. We are not only losing (to trash teams!) but we are doing in the same way we did before Pittman got replaced.

Petrino went 5-7 even with the benefit of being the head guy with his own staff through the entire offseason when he got here. We beat Western Illinois and ULM by a combined total of 5 points. He's a good coach, but he's not Jesus Christ. He didn't just wave his hand and make the team better immediately. Expecting even more than that from him in a situation where he wasn't calling the shots at all until week 5 of the season and isn't even working with his own staff is a bit insane to me.

So, we are in stead going to hire and up and comer who will sell tix for 1 season, show suckage, and be gone.

We don't even do this much right. This would be failing in a way that at least made sense. Our last two hires didn't make any sense in any capacity. If we took our chances on a Sumrall or Chadwell and struck out, I could live with that. The fricking embarrassment Pitt and Morris brought is untenable.

If Cal ends up flopping in basketball, I won't be the least bit ashamed. Because we went out there and showed we gave half a shite and we were ready to not waste the momentum the Muss years brought us. Our football hires and the flawed logic they were made on reek of every personality trait that runs contrary to competitive sports.

He's 0-4 right now. We lost to two of the worst teams in the SEC... and now own that spot.

"He's a good coach but he's not Jesus Christ." No. I'm not asking him to heal lepers or walk on water. I'm asking Bobby to win a game. We are in year two of his offense. These are his players.

"But what if he gets billions to work with?" He couldn't pull that off in the NFL why would he do it here? It's his offense, his players, his QB. Just win a game in the SEC.

We're facing an LSU team with a dumpster truck of issues. Beat 'em. Or Texas. Or Mizzou. All teams with issues. Just win one of those 3 games.

Please. Prove me wrong. Win a game.

You're kind of selling me on Petrino 2.0, but something tells me your scenario won't come to pass because it's too forward thinking.

If we're just hiring Bobby back and not changing a thing we've been doing and treating it like we're in 2012 again, count me out. A 2020s approach to him might just work.

We lost to South Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi State his first year.

Your argument appears to be way back when we lost to bad teams. My argument is based on Petroni won 5 games that year. He has not won a single game here this season.
