The board of the new film festival includes Samuel L. Jackson and Natalie Portman. The focus is on minority and female-produced films.

I don't believe she's starting it, she's the grand femmezard, err host.

This is the vendor community's thing. Yuck.

Great news. It's always good to shake up the bourgeoisie patriarchy.

Exactly, great point! This film festival will promote films that subvert heteronormativity, patriarchy, and misogyny.

She has miles on her now.

I think I'll start a pron convention the same weekend in Noel, MO. We'll get wild at Shadow Lake.

Tom Hanks is gonna be there too. They're trying to start another Sundance.

Bentonville is stealing the show as the cultural capital of NWA from Fayetteville. Now they're also stealing the show as the progressive capital of NWA (excluding Eureka Springs).

Yeah, it sounds like it. The stakes for this film festival are high, as they are going to get the winner's film into theaters.

This ain't some small-town podunk shite. Stars will be there, and it will be good for the area.

This is true, but its damned hard to compete with people worth literally hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars.

The Walton Family has really been pushing stuff in Bentonville for the past 5-6 years. They could put another Billion dollar amenity in downtown Bentonville and not even notice the money. All of it is good for the whole region, although I must say I am getting jelly as hell.

Yeah, I'm all for the regional vision and such... but it does get hard to see one cool thing after another go in up there.

That being said, we're looking at milking that cash cow and opening a second store up there.

Much of the growth is due to that rule Walmart started a few years ago where vendors had to build a satellite headquarters in NWA. A lot of people have moved here because of it.

It's sometimes difficult to live here in that community. The vendors have a ton of $$$ and like to flaunt it.
