If their NIL is so great, why is their recruiting rankings so daggum low as well? Have to pay lower rated cruits much more to come to SMU
I appreciate you being able to read the topic for several posts.

Yet here you are starting a 2 page tangent off topic from what everyone was talking about and then lying about it. You are doing this too much lately and it needs to stop.

Your intellectual dishonesty knows no bounds.

And yet they're still out recruited by Arkansas in the HS and transfer ranks coming off a playoff appearance
And that awesome arse class in ranked 13th in the SEC.

How many wins for the Hogs will that equal in 2025.
Just a shot in the dark here, I'd say less that Arkansas.

I don't know but clearly their NIL isn't great if our awful NIL is out recruiting them.

Here’s the issue. Does a Pittman coached team with an average no.20 recruiting class give you optimism against a gundy or lashlee, or hell even drinkwitz coached team with an average recruiting rank of 30? If the answer to that question for you is no then arguing over poor recruiting is moot. Our problem the last 10 years hasn’t been winning sec games. It’s been losing to north Texas, San Jose state, western Kentucky, Rutgers, Toledo, ULM etc. Hell the year we went 5-3 in the sec under Bielema was when we lost to Toledo and Texas tech. Or look at the first time we went 6-6 under Pittman where we lost to Liberty with a backup qb and Missouri who was 5-7 going into the game. Or even the 9-4 year under Pittman where we beat Texas and Penn state. We lost to an awful Auburn team that year that was already ready to fire Harsin. You can’t keep beating the we don’t have talent drum when we can’t beat the teams we out talent consistently. Or when we beat teams like Tennessee this year who made the playoffs. Bottom line is you swap Kirby smarts and Pittmans recruiting class and have Georgia and Arkansas square up on the gridiron I’m still picking Kirby 10 out of 10.

The issue is the bar, break even, what is expected each year is: 6-6, bowl game, advanced to the next season.
It isn't that plus top X ranked recruiting class. That plus top X in-state players signed. It is 6-6.
For every win above 6-6 a bonus is paid, the amount increases for each additional win.
This is the expectations set for Pittman by his boss. It's pointless to criticize how he achieves his performance goal or how he could exceed his performance goal.
Underachievement doesn't occur under this format unless a bowl game isn't achieved, which has happened only once under his HC time here.
With this format the only one deserving of criticism for the performance, underachievements, and short comings would be the one who set the bar...

It was actually their third string QB. They lost all four remaining games after beating us, including to 3–8 Virginia Tech at home. I've never forgiven Pittman for this game, and it told me everything I needed to know.
