Since the mods are already cracking down other places....

At the end of the day, the AD is the one responsible for hiring coaches, part of that is working the GoBN and one way or another Hunter failed. Regardless of how the hire looks in a couple years, hiring a head coach with ZERO experience in the SEC west is a failure of a coaching search.

Meh, He wanted the job.

Contract signing video

This is the job he wanted. He is going to work to be successful. Career position coaches don't get this chance. He has the experience/years/connections to be able to manage the HC job.

HY had a hard job. See how this pans out. It's all we can do. Have some hope my hog loving brother. Without hope we may as well shut this shite down.

So even if sam goes out and lights the world on fire frick hunter cause he didn't hire some guy with HC experience.

For SEC experience pittman has been a part of several very successful SEC programs he's seen it work and not work many times over. he knows the teams and what they do and their strategies.

We have no idea how this really shook out either, so hard to know who the GOBN wanted. Butch? Norvell? Lane?

parts of this will eventually leak out.

Ok alternate scenario:

You work at McDonalds in charge of making fries. Instead of using grease and making perfectly normal fries you piss in the fry bin and make piss fries for everyone. Are they gonna wait and see if piss fries are popular before firing your dumb arse?

NO.

Hunter had one damn job and instead we get piss fries. And all everyone can say is maybe they will taste ok? Thats why we suck.

We have a head coach, so HY didn’t fail. Now, if there was a much better option available to him, and he didn’t take it, maybe. But ultimately, there are people he is responsible to, who can make that call, and hold him responsible for that failure.

As far as I know, none of those people post on any of the known message boards, so for you to come out and say he failed is basically talking out your arse.

None of us at this point know what options were available to HY, and the university for our coach search. For all you, or anyone else knows, hiring Pittman to deal with the dumpster fire that is the Arkansas football program, may be the greatest accomplishment in the history of Arkansas athletic directors.

Once we got down to Pittman, B. Davis, BLJ, the search was a failure. If you dont see that, then we will have to agree to disagree. Somehow Ole Miss got one of the hottest names this cycle in 3 days and we took 3 weeks to hire someone nobody else wanted. Not sure anyone objective could call that a success.

We may have began the search ‘down’ to these candidates. We have absolutely nothing outside of the shittiest media in the country, and message board circle jerking, that says we had options at all. Feel free to post up one bit of concrete evidence you have about coaches who were legitimately interested and available.

If there weren't any decent ones, then you proved my point.

What coach would want to come here and immediately take a hit to their win/loss percentage while they rebuild a dumpster fire from the ground up?

Ole Miss was one drop of dog piss away from going bowling this year. We haven't won an sec game in 2 years.

We had zero negotiating power in this search.

If we didn't have a plan why were we looking for a coach? Last time we watched the GoBN make a power play and force the AD out and then hire a shitty coach just to get back in the game. We invent ways to frick this up every time. It's ridiculous.

Not having negotiating power is not the same thing as not having a plan. And it sounds like the plan was being executed flawlessly until the powers that be decided we needed to look around some more. And we still could have had Kiffin, but I suspect that the money dried up for anyone not named Malzhan.

I think we are all the better for it, if it was going to be Kiffin, or Pittman. Our coach loves our state, our program, our people, and is enthusiastic about being here and fixing this shitshow. The other guy is enthusiastic about money.

Shitty example. Here's an actual fair McDonald's scenario

Instead of using normal grease for the fries at your failing McDonald's, you try this new grease, that's a bit cheaper, and seems to be less than optimal quality, but the company has been around for two decades and has EXCELLENT reviews, so you give it a shot. In addition, even tho you went cheaper on the grease, you spent more money to bring in better quality buns, cheese, and veggies to make the overall product better.
That's the actual fair analogy.
