So, it's worth first acknowledging that Florida fans were happy to be rid of him, but this should be a big upgrade to what we have seen at QB over the past couple years.
Franks passing efficiency rating by years where he was a starter:
2019: 173.4(just 3 games)
2018: 143.4
2017: 113.3
Just to put it into context, I looked at our starting QBs' passing efficiency rating over the past few years
2019: 109.4(Starkel), 94.6(Hicks), 92.1(Jefferson)
2018: 116.9(Storey), 119(Kelley)
2017: 132.5(A. Allen)
2016: 146(A. Allen)
2015: 166.5(B.Allen)
2014: 129.2(B.Allen)
2013: 109.0(B. Allen)
2012: 143.8(Wilson)
2011: 148.4(Wilson)
2010: 163.6(Mallett)
2009: 152.5(Mallett)
2008: 122.4(C. Dick)

Surprising to me that 2011 Tyler Wilson and 2012 Tyler Wilson are so close. I would have thought he would have had a more significant drop off than that.
Says a lot that 2006 Casey Dick would be better than what we currently have too.

Our problem that year was
A. Defense, we gave up 550 yds to ULM
B. The team quit late in the season outside of the LSU game
