Bo Mattingly @SportsTalkwBo
Multiple sources say Arkansas DL coach Rory Segrest won't be back. One of nicest guys you'll meet. Sounds like staff adjusting to fit 3-4 D

I'm guessing he's been trying to get Rory a job elsewhere while interviewing coaches for the open position. That's Bret's M.O.

Yes it is but he needs to start worrying about Arkansas more than taking care of his buddies.

We have 2 spots open, maybe 1 more.

For those of you worrying about the speed of this thing. Handling your business with some humanity makes a huge difference in future hires/word of mouth than making swift decisions and burning bridges.

Signing day is over, no hurry needed.

Exactly, I understand the complaints if he didn't make a move purely because he couldn't find him another job.

If he has been conducting interviews and Seagrist already knows he's gone, then Bielema has been worrying about Arkansas.

Just because we overzealous internet fans aren't in the loop doesn't mean that nothing is being done...but perception is reality, I guess.

There are several reasons for waiting so long to make a move if you think about it for 2 seconds.

The biggest one is not wanting recruits to think their is instability with the staff

The second biggest is the replacement could come from an NFL team that was recently playing it still is.

There is always a lot of staff change after the NFL season.

Hopefully it's a better hire than Kurt Anderson.

Yes, bc Rory had so many recruits lined up wanting to visit and/or committed.

I know there are some pretty good coaches in the NFL, but at the moment I just can't think of an instance that hiring from the pro ranks turned out exceptionally better than getting a coach with a lot of college experience, especially when it comes to recruiting.
