When Petrino was hired my guess is that guaranteed Pittman 3 more years to see how it went. A year of install/learning. Then 2 years to really start clicking.

It is what it is, now fans can choose to make the best of it or belly ache the whole time.

Petrino's career has risen from the grave to die a second time, and he's once again bringing Arkansas with him. Passion of the Christ Almighty, How Do We Keep fricking This Up?

I think this was the last failure that needed to happen before we can finally atone for our sins. Either that or we have one more to pay for and we hire Gus from ucf. After that I think they would finally have to bring in some new blood. Of course by then they’ll probably just go after lunney or Lindsay.

Didn’t he just lose to Colorado with their shitty coach?

Yes but why would that stop us?

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

It doesn't matter, Arkansas gave up years ago and they are good with where they are now.

There’s no question Petrino’s offense will work
The question is will he be given time

I guess that will depend on Sam’s fate.

In my life we’ve always been David vs Goliath and David is short on rocks right now with few in sight.

Ole Miss went all in on football and lost to Kentucky Saturday. I’ll bet they are feeling worse than I am right now.

That’s the bad part of football to me, one loss can be devastating whereas in basketball and baseball losing in season games are bad but not a deal breaker. No room for error in football.

I don’t know who we can get who can give us a Bama or Georgia roster but if he’s out there then I’d be all in for getting him.

That’s why I wanted the pirate, though we’d be in a similar situation at least we’d be entertained. Just being realistic.

Arkansas won't get the roster that Georgia and Alabama have. 13 players on the depth chart from the portal for Alabama. Georgia has 14 and Arkansas has 38. Ohio State has 17 and Michigan has 15. Ole Miss has over 40. Texas has 18. Oklahoma has 26 and look like crap. LSU has 22. State has 46 and are just awful.

Players aren't leaving those programs like Alabama and Georgia when they are getting paid more than the competition and they can stay on the bench, get a national title ring and wait a little longer for a starting position.

He shouldn’t have survived last year so who knows. I interpreted us keeping him as a white flag from the football program. We’re just not a serious program relative to the league we’re in.

Which likely depends on fan engagement

Fans will dictate how long Bobby gets

If he isn’t given time, hopefully our fans don’t have to look back with regret if our next coach is a dud. Whoever that new coach is will require patience as well.

They know they can't compete in the new era of the NIL and the portal. That is why Pittman wasn't fired last year and the big money decided to pump the money into basketball instead because it is easier to win in basketball.

They're also gonna win more games than we are.

Yes. Beat Texas and the rest won't matter. The rough schedule plays to excuses. Win a rivalry game to break even. That'll do it.
