quote:Reindl had huge moments last season and I've been wanting him to come through but was afraid (especially after Memphis) that he was running out of chances. I told my wife at the game that win or lose that I'm happy simply due to Reindl's performance. Then of course a mini-slumping Kjerstad comes through in the clutch. Crazy game.
Reindl MVP.
Once again, amazing job by Reindl:
7 innings pitched
1 hit
1 run
1 walk
9 K's
18 straight sit-downs.

Reindl was extraordinary and got some help from Heston twice - once on the homer that Auburn thought he caught and then the game winning single.
Top of the 3rd
J. Reindl to p for I. Campbell.
BB Wright, B. walked (3-2 BKFBBB).
K Venter, B. struck out swinging (0-2 KFS).
1B3URBI Estes, J. singled to left field, grounded out to 1b unassisted, RBI (0-0); Wright, B. scored.
K Ward, J. struck out swinging (2-2 SFBBS).
On play the batter ran in front of the base runner because he didn’t think it was going to be a homer and the runner though Heston caught it so after rounding second he went to retouch second and retreat to first was
. Jake didn’t get charged a homer only a single because the batter is ruled out and it’s scored closest defender awarded the out so Gates got credit 3U. That was the only hit Jake allowed.
He walked the leadoff guy to start the fourth and didn’t let another on base.
5 ground outs, 7 strike outs and 6 fly outs.
