Ok I’ve had enough.
GUYS!!!!!
Golesh probably has the highest upside of any of the up and comers.
So tired of hearing Bobby this and Bobby that
Bobby is 0-fer and I have little hope we beat Dork and co tomorrow.
Geez, sounds like we have have the inside track on the guy that most everyone else wanted. BE HAPPY!
My Gosh… our football IQ sucks around this place sometimes.
Do some homework and stop living in the past with BP.
I would have been good with Campbell but honestly after about 30 minutes of digging, I can see why he has interest…… don’t know if he is the guy to fix our problems… and a lot of folks at ISU wouldn’t cry if he left. But I actually looked into it, didn’t just sit back and hope to keep the guy that hasn’t won a game this year. We fired Sam because we were tired of moral victories…. Why keep Bobby after all the failures… and a TBD?
Let’s Go Coach Golesh!!!! I’m here for it!
Hope the doofus in charge didn’t screw it up.

Yeah yeah because we’re told so.

Ignore the fact that he’s been outperformed by the three other “up and comers” in his conference.

My IQ sucks though. I’m not able to take in this magic knowledge that Golesh is an amazing coach. It’s not knowledge that can’t be taken in through actual results or evidence. Just gotta be a ball knower

1 yd difference.

Does their QB make 3 or 4 self inflicted blunders per game? Did they fumble away multiple victories?

USF is 15th in turnover margin, we are 130th.

Hell he ran the team for 8 weeks and had his coaches beating up players.

It was at that point the defense started playing a little harder. I wish it had happened a little sooner.

There’s also like 7-8 teams in playoff contention still that average more penalty yards than Arkansas per game.

The problem is you couple penalty yards with horrible turnovers at exactly the wrong time and you’ve got disaster, or Arkansas football. Whichever you prefer.

Arkansas is near the bottom of FBS in turnover margin at 128th. USF is tied for 15th in turnover margin. So okay, you have some penalties but you also have a ball hawking defense that produces turnovers to cancel some penalties out.

He put up a 60 spot on Morris at North Texas just a short time ago and waxed his arse, in Denton.

I wonder if all the folks that complained about Briles offense realize Golesh runs a version of it.

Does he just run the Tennessee offense? Which is a variation of the veer and shoot? Which is basically the air raid with a running game? That was what I assumed since he worked under huepel at Tennessee but I haven’t watched any usf games this year so really don’t know

He did finally be one of the other future p4 coaches. Yet North Texas has had a much better year overall..

Now do his results vs Silverfield and Sumrall

Yeah those people really didn’t understand what they were looking at. I’d take briles back in a heartbeat. One day Kendall will be a HC

Yea his QB this year is in top 10 in most categories.

KJ is also the perfect QB for Golesh offense. Could be instant electricity hopefully he stays

I don't have a problem with the veer & shoot. I think Golesh would bring a good offense here. I don't expect better results than a Petrino offense vs SEC competition, but it will be good.

He has ran the #1 offense in the SEC, I don’t think anybody should be worrying about the offense. He needs to get a really good defensive staff and work the portal like crazy for defense talent

I expect a little more commitment to the run.
Other than that I think it’ll be your basic power spread with some RPO. Maybe more shot plays. We haven’t thrown vertical on the edges much this year. Gotta have ath receiver though and none of ours are really a fade guy.

They're averaging 220 ypg rushing which is 12th nationally. Pretty balanced offense. Ranked #2 nationally in total offense.

Bobby was never going to get the job. He lacks the necessary qualities for programs in today’s game.

What’s the old saying? Nostalgia is only useful when you’re selling something. This perfectly incapsulates Bobby and his supporters. Attempting to sell support based on performances from a bygone era.

Yeah but my concern is how much of that is just Huepel. Tenn has the #1 offense in the conference this year, 2nd last year.

It’s not like Golesh was the mastermind of that offense. He didn’t have any background in the veer n shoot before his connection with Huepel.

He’s been able to copy paste in the G5 so far, but I’m not sure how much credit I give him for the TN production.

Kinda interesting… Huepel picked up his scheme from Joe Jon Finley who got it from Briles.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all, eve those of you who are wrong about Bobby

It’s the only time he has played North Texas.

And you’re comparing three different programs.

Golesh took over one of the worst FBS programs when he took the USF job. The Bulls were 4-29 the three years before Golesh took over.

Silverfield and Sumrall took over winning programs. Silverfield will probably fall into the failure of Memphis coaches that moved in only to be fired at their P4 landing spot. The ONLY reason Norvell isn’t fired this season is because FSU went Yurachek times a million on his contract buyout.

Sumrall took over a program at Tulane that had won 24 games the two years prior to his arrival.

Comparing the situations that Sumrall and Silverfield walked into versus what Golesh walked into is flat out foolish.

Then we have Morris…who has a losing season at North Texas and was 11-14 as a head coach going into this season. He has put up 10 wins this season but has avoided Memphis, Tulane, and ECU teams that are in the top half of the American standings. He did get Navy at home and beat them. Otherwise, his other 9 wins this season are against teams that are 10-25 in American play and Wazzu (5-6), Lamar (FCS), and South Alabama (4-7).
