A lot of what we already knew, but still..
quote:

Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been watching Arkansas from afar and has been impressed with what he has seen, particularly with the way the Razorbacks went into Bloomington and took down the 11-1 Indiana Hoosiers.

Calipari is widely regarded as one of the top coaches in all of college basketball after going to six final fours and winning the 2011/12 NCAA Championship. He said he has followed first-year Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman throughout his career and added that Razorback fans may not understand how good of a coach they have in Musselman. That unsolicited statement led to followup questions about Musselman.

“I expected them to play a different way and play with a toughness swagger," Calipari said on Thursday. "He has given freedom to his guards, which is their strength, and those kids are responding. They’re playing small ball, but who cares how you play? It’s about winning, and guess what -- they’re winning.

"To go to Indiana, who is 11-1 -- 11-1 now -- to go to Indiana and be down in Assembly Hall and come back and win. I want to know how many teams have done that in the last 10 years. That’s what you should look up. My guess is they were either up when they won but they were never down 10, 11, 12 with 8-9 minutes and then come back and win. I can’t remember one. But go ahead and look it up because that stuff, that’s about coaching. That’s about execution at the end of games. All that kind of stuff that matters.”

Calipari is right. And what I like the most about this team is the fact that whether they win or lose, they are going to give it their best effort, every game.

I honestly believe that Musselman will most likely be the best coach we've had since Nolan.

Mike was a good coach but Musselman is coaching on another level.

You guys are sensitive. I was just pointing out that the bar for being the best since Nolan is pretty low. I’d be pretty disappointed if muss isn’t better than mike, Stan and pel.

8 downvotes for saying something that is logically true

I know what you were trying to say, but I disagree.

I think Musselman is the best coach we have ever had. I've said it from day 1 and it's true. We will end up building him a statue here because he is better than Nolan and he is better than Sutton.

Cal is right. He has been a Musselman fan for awhile. Right after we hired Musselman he was quoted in an article saying Musselman is "as good as it gets" as a coach. Spoke about how very few coaches understand the flow of a game as well as Musselman.

Cal wears Musselman underwear to bed at night.

Sky is the limit, y'all.

ETA: and I didn't downvote. What you said is true. I just think he's even better than that.

This is so damn stupid, it was time for mediocre Mike to go and we got lucky as hell getting Muss. He is going to win at a minimum one natty here.

I agree with this as far as strait up coaching goes. The guy seems to know his shite and tweeks on it.

Being the best coach does not mean he will achieve their success. I hope like hell he does, but we are in a different era of basketball. Can another title be won at Arkansas? Muss is our best bet. Nolan got his because he was the hungriest mother fricker alive. He was not going to be denied with the chip he had on his shoulder. He had something to prove.

I think he can do it. It may be my hog colored glasses though. I'm scared to have that kind of faith in razorback anything

He has them extremely well prepared to execute exactly what he wants at all times throughout the game. Hell, he never even calls timeouts. It's crazy.

I have no doubt he will achieve success here. He's a guru. We were lucky to get him.

Nolan won because he dominoed in talent and the rules were in his favor.

I was a big Nolan fan when Eddie crawled to kentucky.

Muss coaches real basketball,I'm all in on this.

I can't stand Vitale, but the exposure is good for the program.
