Briles doesn't utilize the TE position.

Don’t worry he will be gone next year, and we will have two tight ends, and just run 12 personnel all the time. Beating up all the smaller teams, but getting blown out by everyone else.

At ALL! Makes it real handy for the linebackers on the other team to be available as run stoppers. We might as well trot another lineman out to play TE.

That’s the only alternative, huh? Just not possible to have a competent running game and a competent passing game?

So no change from this year?

Oh wait, we aren't even beating up on smaller teams.

When you play in the sec west and want to play smash mouth run it down your throat yes. We aren’t bigger than any teams, we don’t out talent anyone.

When you can’t do those things you out scheme them. So you need that shitty spread you don’t like.

Seems like everyone want to go back to their grandpas football. Maybe we can strap on leather helmets again.

Maybe we can run the I formation? Let bring back fullbacks.

Wtf are you talking about? The only sustained offense we've had in my lifetime was petrino's.

The current results aren't much different than what we've seen over the past 10 yrs.

I don’t know what you think, but I don’t have any problem with the spread. I have a problem with shitty playcalling. I have a problem with not having a competent passing game. And just for clarity, I have a problem with not having a competent running game as well.

We don’t have to scheme some goofy shite. We aren’t going to out muscle or out speed teams like Bama, Georgia, LSU, and others, just as you said. If we are going to have any success, we have to be able to run and pass the ball effectively. Do I give a shite how we achieve that? No sir, I don’t.

If our scheme worked, I would be fine with it. It doesn’t. We do entirely too much running when they know we are going to run, and then passing because that’s the only way to get a first down unless KJ or Malik do something incredible. We are seeing the results of that. KJ is big, strong, and tough, so he has been able to take the beating for a couple of years. Hornsby wouldn’t last a year.

I love how we call ourselves an RPO offense but we NEVER show RPO reads. I ran an RPO scheme for 3 years as an OC. We don’t even show the look, much less actually count the box and read it.

Does Briles himself call it an RPO offense? I don’t feel like I’ve ever heard him say that before.

I’ve always heard people call it a spread power run or some variations.

It’s supposed to be a power run. That opens up for chunk throwing plays, with slants and tight ends.

Honestly I don’t think KJ can read a defense. Because when he does have time he 90% of the time ends up taking off for a run.

I would agree, but I think reading the defense is what all the looking to the sideline is all about.

So the defense shows one look when we line up, we look over to the sideline, and then the defense does what they were actually going to do.

Now, I’m sure that there are reads KJ is supposed to do pre and post snap, but I don’t think they actually happen. I think they just go with whatever the sideline sends in. If we ever actually read and reacted to a defense, you would see us catch them with their pants down. It almost never happens. Which means that our offense is utterly, laughably predictable.

I have been surprised by our offense exactly once this year. That was the slick little pass to the flat to Dubinion vs aTm.

I had to miss the middle of the game but it seems pretty impressive to me that we’ve put up 478 yards after the realized Fortin was not the guy. Really wasted that 1st quarter.

And 17 points.

Tired of this 20/20 offense bullshite. We’re one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen in terms of red zone efficiency.

Seems to be our curse, any time we have even a mediocre offense. Member Jim Chaney? I member.

Briles and Odom will be gone after this year. Probably bring in Lunney, if he doesn’t get a G5 job.

so get rid of Briles who has the 24th rated offense in the nation, and bring in Lunney who has the 67th rated offense

great plan

His dad called his offense the veer and shoot so that's probably where it comes from. I don't think art and Kendal are all that similar though. Art really stretched things out at Baylor and pre snap motion was not anywhere near what we do

But we’re 72nd in scoring offense, which is the purpose of offense.

Odom is the one who needs to stop dragging arse. The defense cost Arkansas two games this year. ¹
