Bobby Portis, Arkansas
There wasn’t much scuttle about Portis potentially making the leap after his freshman season with the Razorbacks. But he’s 6-10, 242 pounds and averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 73.7 percent from the line. If those numbers continue to improve, he’ll enter into the thick of the draft discussion, especially if he pushes Arkansas to its first NCAA tournament since 2008.

Am I reading the article wrong?

Isn't this just 2015 prospects who are already in school? Doesn't include international or high school players?

Regardless, I just can't see BP going anywhere close to the lottery without a consistent jump shot or back to the basket game. He doesn't have the athleticism to wow GMs, so he needs the skills. I'm sure he'll get there eventually, but not in 2015. JMHO.

His jump shot is pretty consistent.

He will improve his draft stock by extending his range on his jump shot, he isn't a back to the basket player.

Amazing how calling Jen a hooker/stripper is OK, mention Miles sleeping with his bosses wife and the thread must be taken down. Funny how that works.

yup- you can say anything you want about bert and it's fine and dandy. they have at least started deleting threads when there's multiple ones on bert being fat. i guess that's progress, sorta.

that's an interesting rumor btw- i googled it after you posted it.

You're aware that this doesn't include any international players or incoming freshmen, right?...meaning that BP isn't really a top 15 draft prospect as the thread title suggests.

I wouldn't say it's consistent. He should be shooting close to 50% as a stretch 4 in the NBA. I don't think he was anywhere near that, but I may be mistaken. I think if he worked on his form it would set him apart. His tenacity will really make people happy.

50.4% from the field, led the team with a min of 100 attempts.

73.7% from the line, 3rd best returning, 6th over all on last year team not counting Wagner.

27.3% from 3.

His shooting form isn't ideal, but it isn't Bill Cartwright bad either, it is effective from the line for a person of his height, arm length, and hand size.

Well I stand corrected. Obviously his FG percentage is skewed by layups/dunks, but I thought his outside shots had brought him down lower.

The form is one of those things I could see him changing in a devoted off-season if he really wanted to.

Yeah there's probably no chance he comes back so let's just enjoy this season.

He's going to improve significantly and his draft stock will rise even higher than Top 15 if so.

DraftExpress has him going #17 overall right now and WalterFootball has him going #22 to the Mavs.
