No wonder Bert left with so much "class."

Neither report was wrong... the structuring of the deal is why both were actually reported correctly.
1. The actual buyout from the AD is close to 6 mill
2. The foundation had a separate agreement for the rest that totaled close to 12 mill
Correct, and for this I owe StoneHag an apo... apol... aaaapppoooolllloo.... frick it, nothing.
There were very well-connected people running with the $6mil figure, which makes sense considering the other half of the buyout wasn't public. JL made a huge mistake in doing this, as the $6mil itself would've been plenty to "scare other opportunities away" after a mediocre 3rd season.
Methinks Auburn is probably working on a higher buyout and contract extension for GM as we speak. Still up to him to sign/agree to it, but the result will tell us all we need to know.

All they gotta do is bump him to 6 million (they should be able to), and he will be off the table for Arkansas. No way we could match that.

we get 40 mill this year. if we made a bowl game at 6-6 the sec pays for it all.....that doesn't count booster money at all... we will be just fine

It wasn't just you.
When I said he had another contract that wasn't public record, people laughed and said that would be illegal.

So are we gonna give Gus everything he needs to win a NC here? Because if we are throwing around that kind of cash I hope we start paying assistants like crazy and start buying recruits

Rev, you keep telling me I'm wrong about everything. But I've been right about all of it.
Like, I'm wrong about Charlie Strong huh? Wrong like that?

I will lay it out for you, You said.. "He would be off of the table, we couldn't afford that:
Yes we can, and we are willing too. Several of us have it on good authority that we are offering a ton of cash to get GM period.
And on Strong. I like the man, think in time he would be a great coach here or almost anywhere but teasip u. Dude is the real deal as a person also. But he has made it known in the past that HE WASNT INTERESTED. Has this changed in this last search> It didn't when CBB was hired....
as for everything... .No, just most of it.

You also had it on good authority from several people Strong had not been contacted.
As far as the money goes, I'm telling you man, money is a big issue right now.
ETA: As I said before, I have no doubts there are interested parties. Probably Malzahn included. But plans like that have to be approved and not everyone is on board. There is an internal struggle going on over this very thing right now. I promise you.
ETA 2: "I have been told by several people we have NOT reached out to Charlie Strong." 12 hours later he is announced as our plan B.
Lol

Where ate you getting Strong is the plan B?
Inquiring minds want to know. I wouldn't poopoo a Strong hire at all, I just don't believe their is a chance in Poopoo it will happen.

I have not seen strong suggested by anyone but boar. Where is pio? Tell him to spill the beans.
Posted on 12/1/17 at 9:50 pm to RunningBlake
Pio would find out quicker about Strong than anyone, if he wished...
I knew Charlie back in the day a bit. Way back....

Check Bo's podcast if you can. He reported it today. "Sauces say Strong has expressed interest in the Arkansas job." -- Bo Mattingly, reported today.
"They have contacted Charlie Strong."
"You're wrong, Boar!! Multiple sources."
"They put out feelers anyways. Lol" -- last night
