The Nutt era also featured a huge LRSD pipine that has Literally been vacant for 15 years.

He was also very good at identifying diamonds in the rough and had SEC/NFL bodies on the lines and on Defense.

He also presided over multiple "once in a lifetime" type talents like Jones and McFadden and still had bad seasons with those guys and lost games he shouldn't have... Explicitly the 2006 LSU and Florida games b/c he couldn't develop a QB for shite and, for whatever reason, he made his own bad luck.

I'm not saying Nutt was some great and wonderful recruiter or coach. I'm just saying that he acquired a lot of pieces on his teams, had some real players, but still failed. And it was mostly b/c of stubbornness and ego.

Bert was just a lost, drunken idiot once Pittman left and was no longer there to guide the program.

That 2014 team was absolute loaded with nfl talent and had a top 10 national defense and he still could only win 7 games.

Yes Nutt went after the recruits with little or no SEC offers because he wasn't going to make the effort to get recruits with bigger offers on campus.

Nutt should already had a QB on campus and moved Jones to WR. But of Course Nutt didn't care a bout QB development and so it was never going to happen.

Nutt should have been fired after the 05 season. Butch Davis would come here and our chances of winning the SEC the next year would be better.

He did underachieve here but he wasn't a good coach or recruiter and he knew it. That is why he didn't take the Nebraska job because he knew he would fail. So he stayed and was brown nosing as much as he could so that he could save his job.

Petrino would have gone 9-3/10-2 with that team. 11-1/10-2 the next year. In 16 he would win the last two games of the year and finish 9-4.

Nutt also lost a handful of talent from the state as well. D'Angelo Williams and the famous "NO!" fax to Nutt on signing day. Cedric Houston and Bret Smith to Tennessee. Ryan Mallett to Michigan (played at Texas High but he and his family are from here). I'm sure there is more somebody can add. Just because he made little rock feel special doesn't mean he was a great recruiter. Hillis and DMAC were coming here no matter what. I will give him credit for Felix although he didn't go to Oklahoma due to crowded backfield. Also give him or his coaching staff credit for having the smarts to move Jamaal Anderson to defensive line. Nutt was a good not great coach in terms of wins and losses but a horrible leader off the field. Too much drama and ego.

In regards to Bielema and Morris. Bielema sucked and needed to be fired but Morris' failure was all his own doing. Bielema left enough f'n talent here to beat Colorado State, North Texas, Western Kentucky, and San Jose State. We have 4 former defenders from the 2018 team who are in the NFL now but we didn't have enough talent to not get blown out by North Texas. bullshite. 0-forever in the SEC is Bielema's fault. Getting mud stomped by G5 programs is all Chaggie.
