Its official now

Yahoo

quote:

The University of Kansas received its notice of allegations from the NCAA on Monday, which includes potentially devastating allegations toward the men’s basketball program, according to multiple sources.

Kansas has been charged with lack of institutional control, three Level I violations in men’s basketball and there is a head coach responsibility charge against coach Bill Self, according to multiple sources.

quote:

The Level I violations are tied, in part, to the recruitments of Billy Preston and Silvio De Sousa. Court testimony and documents tied to the federal basketball corruption cases over the past two years included details of veteran adidas consultant T.J. Gassnola having “conspired to illicitly funnel approximately at least $90,000” to the mother of Preston. Gassnola also testified in court that he paid De Sousa’s guardian $2,500, although he denied arranging a $20,000 payment that had been discussed on wiretaps.

quote:

Evidence tied to the case included Gassnola and Self talking openly in text messages about Adidas helping Kansas recruit players. “I’m happy with Adidas,” Self wrote Gassnola. “Just got to get a couple real guys.”

Later, Gassnola texted about keeping Self and Kansas happy with lottery picks. Self responded: “That’s how (it) works. At UNC and Duke.”

He really fits into what Musselman likes to do in his system. At 6-8, he can handle the ball and can play multiple positions on the court. Hopefully with time he can fill a similar role of what the Martin twins were asked to do.

Maybe I'm just reading it wrong but looks like it was given the 15th of this month. Good news either way.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Still a chance Kyree could join the team in January if he commits but who knows if it works out that way. I would guess the staff wants to see how that goes first before deciding on how to handle McBride.

I noticed his name on the 247 timeline mentioning us in top 12. First time for me seeing his name and not sure when we offered him? Unreported interest I suppose.

Yeah, now McPherson is reporting that Williams has been recruiting him. A little strange to hear nothing before this though.

Staff starting early on 2022 class
quote:

Sophomore combo guard Quion Williams (6-3, Jonesboro) is planning to take an unofficial visit to Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 5, and will attend the Hogs' Red-White intrasquad scrimmage at Barnhill Arena, while sophomore wing Joseph Pinion (6-5, Morrilton) is looking to take his unofficial visit to Arkansas on Saturday, Nov. 2.
