'23 recruit LHP and projected 2nd Rdr, Adam Hachman will be having TJ surgery. This probably increases his odds of having it to campus.

MLB.com recently updated their Draft Top 150 and will eventually expand it to 250 I believe, but the Hogs are heavily represented. You can find the list below:

MLB.com Draft Top Prospects

The following are Hogs / signees who are on the list:

#12 Aidan Miller - 3B
#41 Walker Martin - SS
#50 Nazzan Zanetello - SS
#59 Kendall George - OF
#63 Jace Bohrofen - OF
#77 Adam Hachman - LHP
#83 Hunter Hollan - LHP
#95 Jaxon Wiggins - RHP
#110 Tavian Josenberger - OF
#135 Colin Fisher - LHP
#139 Hunter Dietz - LHP
#147 Barrett Kent - RHP

I'm going to Aiden Miller and Walker Martin are going to sign at this point.

The Hogs sure could use Martin, Helfrick, and even Waid more than any of the other signees. Zanatello would be a good get if Martin does sign.

Kendall George would be a huge get to campus. He's supposed to be an Enrique Bradfield clone and would be our best pure CF since Dom left.

I wonder if Wegner had not gotten injured if he would be higher on the list.

Anyone know if we are in on the Crowder catcher Joe Reid? He's pretty good and said to be going P5. He's from Ozark went to Nixa.

.341/.429/.698 11HR 43RBI 10DBL.

Holt slugged .668 last year there. Seems good for a C.

Since baseball portal opens up tomorrow, here are some names that Nate Thompson has started following on Twitter might be looking to add as transfers for next season:

P Nate Snead - Wichita St
P Jace Miner - Wichita St
P Grant Adler - Wichita St
OF Chuck Ingram - Wichita St
INF Garrett Pennington - Wichita St
SS Wehiwa Aloy - Sacramento St
OF Kennedy Jones - UNCG
INF Maximus Martin - Rutgers
LHP Will Mercer - Notre Dame
SS Ali Camarillo - Cal St Northridge
OF Mason Maners - Jacksonville St

The ones on bold are the ones I, personally, hope we add or are in strong consideration for.

On 2023 class DVH said in his postgame presser "We have the #1 class coming in and we're going to get smoked in the draft and we know that."

"Rebuild roster every summer. Hard to bring in freshmen and keep them happy if not playing. Hope we keep them."

I don’t know how Ty Waid didn’t win Gatorade POY

quote:

He boasted an impressive batting average of .443, launched 13 home runs and maintained a remarkable .702 slugging percentage. Additionally, his on-base percentage stood at .670. On the mound, Waid displayed his dominance, remaining unbeaten with a flawless 10-0 record, striking out 116 batters while only allowing 18 walks across 70 innings of work. His outstanding performance yielded an exceptional ERA of 0.90.

At least, we got a decent CF replacement in case Kendall George doesn't make it to campus.

You really shouldn't be counting on the HS guys in the recruiting class who are in the top 200 and visiting the MLB combine.

If one or two get to school it will be a pleasant surprise.

who do we actually have a chance of keeping around for the season?

I understand Basketball and Football, but don't quite grasp the baseball stuff my man.

Seems like the draft would be prior to being able to commit or something. timing sucks

There's not been much chatter, at least as of yet. Walker Martin seems to have been the most vocal lately and makes it seem like there's a decent chance he makes it to campus, but he could just be playing the leverage game. We might start hearing more after this combine.

We will find out after the draft July 9-11 from Seattle.

Everyone drafted in the top 5 rounds will likely sign.

Rounds 6-10 teams take older players out of leverage and sign them to a low bonus to use the bonus money with other picks who have leverage.

The teams with the most bonus money you have to worry about at the start of day 3 cutting a deal with HS talent.

Just know this rev, it’s never bad signing this much high school talent because although you will inevitably lose some not all are going pro
