You're an intelligent person. Nobody with an iota of intelligence thinks that taking a position coach with 0 college head coaching experience and making him the leader of an SEC school that's in a downward spiral just because he's an Arky boy that's nice to people is a good idea.

Honestly, I do.
A lot of P5 schools hire assistant coaches.
Horton would hire a recruiting machine and we will be back to being RBU.

Why? What qualifications does he have that would make you think this? I get that he’s a great man and would represent our University well off the field but he’s a career position coach at the end of the day. I just don’t see it.

We can agree to disagree on Coach Horton, but he has had success everywhere he has been. He’s been apart of a lot of some great staffs and not so great staffs.
The guy is a winner, and you want to hire a winner. It’s time someone gives him that chance.
I’m pretty sure our new AD already has a friendship with the Horton family, too.

As I said the other day when you brought this up, they were already floating Tim Horton that very day. I think it was Clay Henry that brought him up that day and Bo said he needs to be on staff for recruiting purposes.
Since then I've heard him mentioned by someone every day.
This is fricking stupid. Can Tim Horton recruit? Yes. Is he a top 25 recruiter? No. Do we have a candidate that is head and shoulders better than Horton who IS a top 25 recruiter? Yes. Does that man have head coaching experience? No, but apparently that doesn't matter near as much as people here think it does if they're considering Horton.
