Skipper getting OL of the week is kind of dumb. Maybe special teams player of the week...

I just can't get the one outside rush that he completely whiffed on out of my head. He's got a DE lined up on his outside shoulder, and he's leaning both arms onto his INSIDE leg. It was awful.

Skippers a gamer. He goes all out on every play. To me he's the Morgan of the OLINE.

I think both guys deserved it. I hope Coach B stays on the job after Toby Baker didn't get STPOW lol.

You could tell that Austin studied his game tape of the LA Tech game. No turnovers. You didn't see him late on the out route once in the TCU game (which is what caused the first INT in the LA Tech game). His deep ball +15 yards looked crisp and accurate. The touchdown he threw to Drew Morgan, that back shoulder pass on a frozen rope was NFL-like. His demeanor throughout the game. He never got to high, never got too low. He played within himself, and managed the game effectively. When he needed that drive with less than two minutes he was laser accurate with pressure in his face. He really has taken the reins of the offense.

I thought the Offensive Line is still improving but that right side is still a little bit of a work in progress. Played much better only giving up one sack and were more physical in the run game. Colton Jackson got beat several times and I know he saw it on film and I know he probably caught an earful from the coaches. You have 1st or 2nd and goal and he just watches his man tackle Rawleigh in the backfield when the other five blocks along the line were essentially perfect.

I was extremely impressed with the across the field throw he made to Morgan out of our endzone when they had us backed up. That is not an easy throw at all considering the distance, angle and location.

AA's demeanor is just night and day from BA in pressure situations. Fact is, AA is a gamer. We have the chance to win a lot of games with him at the helm. Once he's able to fully go thru all of his reads, watch out...

AA had the luxury (if you can call it that) of waiting four years as a redshirt Junior before getting to start. That's a lot of knowledge and watching Brandon as he was developing. AA didn't get thrown to the wolves against Bama like BA did as a freshman or sophomore (can't remember).

While I agree with most of this, it still doesn't change the fact that he could've folded like his bro did time and time again until midway thru last season. Point I'm trying to make is that although they're brothers, they are very different. I have a younger brother and he and I couldn't be any more different from a personality standpoint.

Like most younger brothers do, I also bet he watched some of the mistakes that big bro made and decided he would learn from that. Still, in my opinion, some things just come naturally to others. And that "it" factor during crunch time...well AA's got it.

IDK man, I am not ready to crown the kid just yet. He has been great overall, but what happens when we need a deep down field throw with the coming up competition. Thus far we haven't shown that strength. His connecting with Reed needs to be there as well.

Plus, BA didn't have the same coaching, or talent around him until last season. there are a lot of factors..
