What a pile of losers. I do, however, respect the fat man's pillow game.

I just love how non violent it is. They are dumb, though.

As a reformed hippie, I still love a good protest. I mean... that kind of stuff is what makes Fayetteville.
I remember getting righteously indignant over Kohl's Kills Trees for God's sakes. I think my picture was even in the paper holding a sign for that one. Don't have the time or inclination these days, but peacefable assembly and civil disobedience are things that make our country great.

I have bad brakes, I might not have been able to stop.
At least that's my alibi

I miss Khols Kills Trees. Reminds me of a simpler time when a grove of pin oaks was the worst thing that could get hurt.
Whatever happened to the dude that had climbed the tree and was living in it so it couldn't get cut down? I assume he's an accountant at Wal Mart headquarters or something now. Or maybe mid management making 6 figures at a pharmaceutical company.

I called and emailed Kohls corporate during the tree protest.
I remember the lady who answered said "let me guess, this is about trees".

That was actually a lady. Her name is Patricia Mickelson. Her husband is a painter in town, and he does work for us on occasion. He's really shy and kind of anti-social, though, so I've never spoken with him about that protest.

Every protest needs a conga or two.

Kohls and the building adjacent were the first in a long line of development out in that field. It was kind of a shame seeing a huge grove of old growth oaks taken down like that. They managed to save maybe 20% of them. I like the way the city got the creek preserved out there and then extended the trail system through it. For suburban type development, there's a lot more nature out there than there would be in 90% of other places.
I mainly look down on the Ferguson stuff because I disagree with them. I support their efforts with gay rights, recycling, environmental protection, and even with transgender rememberance day.
Damn, there's a long list of things they are involved in. One of my first memories of the protest culture were the Meat is Murder folks who show up down there every Thanksgiving. Fayetteville is one of the reasons PCU was such a hilarious movie to me.

Fayetteville has always had its share of people who are a bit different.

The Uptown apartments are going to be pretty cool out there, I hope. I know that the neo-traditionalist or whatever the hell architecture school is represented on here will hate the design of them, but it's a good concept.

LOL.
This shite is embarrassing. Go home liberal fricks, the Ferguson verdict has absolutely nothing to do with those four retards

I would be fricking PISSED if these frickers blocked traffic while I was trying to get to the pit or parking garage and race to class on time.

I admit the Fayetteville police helping them plan the protest so no one gets run over is funny.

Fayetteville is also in the middle of a Ward 1 runoff featuring wacko Teabagger Paul Phaneuf vs. Middle-Lefty Adella Gray.
I thought, at first, that the voting was all happening at the court house, and I was immediately struck by the potential irony of Phaneuf winning the election because lefties couldn't get to the court house to vote due to the protest. But evidently the Ward 1 runoff happens out at the precinct polling places, not all at the court house.

I wonder if Green Party darling Abel Tomlinson is there, and if he plans on shrooming and climbing one of those courthouse trees again.

Yeah. Abel was a good guy. Some people are already distanced enough from reality without gobbling hallucinogens on a regular basis, though.

Thank you for correcting me. As I was typing it I was vascilating over whether it was a man or woman. I had already decided on guy before I began to doubt that choice as well. And of course I am too lazy to google on my current spoow internet connection.
I loved growing upo in Fayetteville. That wasn't long after I had moved away. I left in 2002, I want to say it was around 2003 or so.
Love Fayetteville's diversity and miss it sometimes.
