Brock Huard says on @710ESPNSeattle WSU DC Alex Grinch is weighing multiple job offers, including Texas A&M and Arkansas. Says he’ll be surprised if he stays in Pullman.
Edit..
Update: Sources tell FootballScoop Texas A&M has their eyes on another person and that Grinch was never offered Texas A&M defensive coordinator

I know nothing about the guy but his name is perfection for a defensive coordinator.

He helped make Washington State legit. He gave a Mike Leach team a good defense for once, so he knows what it takes to have a good defense with a spread team. Give him whatever it takes to get him here. This guy or Venables would make the Chad Morris hire a home run. I know he doesn't have the big name yet, but he is a damn good DC.

That and everyone seems to love them some WSU lately.

Yes Please. The dude is legit.
He would be heads and tails above the Chief.

What about 2004 Award winner? He has a look to him that he wants another shot IMO. Don't know how most of you would feel about that, but have heard his name tossed in the media.

He's done well at WSU but to say this is presumptuous. Grinch has only been a DC for three years, compared to Chavis' 2 decades of successful experience. Not to mention this experience has come entirely within the SEC, which is something we desperately need on this staff considering our current staff has exactly zero SEC experience so far outside of Lunney.

No thanks, especially if we have a legit chance at Grinch. Chavis, like has been mentioned before, is the $2 whore that has been everywhere. I'd rather have a guy that wants to prove himself and actually be a Head Coach one day.

He's making 600k at Wazzu. Offer him a million and get him to the hill. He's a really good DC.

He's been at three places since 1989. That is not a "$2 whore".

Hogwarts, if I had that money I'd do it just because you said so.

Alex Grinch is terrific DC. His D is made up of 2 & 3-star recruits. Pac-12 coaches say he's the most unpredictable schemer in the league.

That was the best defense I have seen from a Mike Leach-coached team, fast, athletic and most of all tough--they fought hard.
He plays 250 pound guys inside and plays lighter guys across the board that can fly. They are turnover machines. They strip and claw for the ball on every play. It matches up well with the rest of the team.

Paul Rhoads preached this as well. I really think Bielema limited how aggressive Rhoads could be and I have no facts to back this up.

Yes, please. Matches our new coaching philosophy perfectly. Young, energetic, enthusiastic, and knows how to set up a defense to play for 4 quarters no matter what. Worked for Kelley at Oregon.
Sounds like he has kind of a coaching buddy like Pittman/Chaney a little bit. Wives and kids are close, and they've been together at several stops. May be difficult to pull them back apart.

Now Wally Hall and the Demazette are tweeting about it. I wonder if this really does have legs. Wally started pumping up the Morris possibility before it became public.

The only worry with him is that Stanford is as close to a big boy running game as he has seen, and that's one game per year. Here, he'll have Bama, LSU, and Auburn at least to plan for.
