Jobs like this pay well without unrealistic expectations for the job itself, Marshall isn't going to be fired for having a down year and failing to reach the tournament, not advancing far enough in the tourney etc, its better to keep these jobs until an actual "good job" opens up. Think of all the year Miller stayed at Dayton instead of taking the first shite P5 job that came along, he ended getting a good job at place that is focused on basketball success. WS will never, NEVER, win a national championship in mens basketball. I agree that he has security and that is why he wont leave. That however sides with my argument that he is afraid to go to a bigger school with more expectations.

Marshall will not get a better job if he is waiting for one to come open. There are way more coaches ahead of him and up and coming that are better than him. He has had success, but I dont know why he feels the need to be overly confident about himself. He was in the NIT with Mike this year. He will either ride it out at WS or be done soon IMO.
